Collectors Club worth it?

I imagine more than a couple people here are members of the official Tranformers Collectors Club. Is it worth the $40? I've always considered it and I got a few extra bucks kicking around at the moment. Are the exclusive figures any good?

Well, I find it worth it to be a member. It is getting better with each year that the club is around. The free figures are cool, the exclusives are getting better, you get a discounted Botcon packages rate (which makes it really worth it).

The magazine is cool too, with a 6 page exclusive comic every two months.

If you got the dough, give it a whirl! Plus, it's RUMORED that the Universe Seacons set will be available to club members in the near future.

It's supposed to be worth it if you can make the conventions, and/or live on the North American Continent.

However it is meant to be less worthwhile if you live overseas.

Well, I don't really plan on attending any conventions and I just noticed that the last club giveaway figure was a repaint of Energon Windrazor, a basic size figure. They can't even spring to give Deluxe figures away to members? So I'm still having reservations about signing up.

Well, the fifth figure will be a deluxe. The combiner aspect was the focus of the first five figures, the fifth being the deluxe 'torso' piece.

I'm tempted to join just because it appears they have access to buy some exclusives...kinda like Sam's Club - join with a membership, then buy stuff you can't necessarily get elsewhere (like that crazy Astrotrain that comes with a couple of minicons). Freebies are just a bonus.

Is the torso piece the next one due to come out? If so I may join, but otherwise it's basically a $40 subscription to the magazine you get as a member and that I can pass on.

AK, are you a member and regret joining up or is that just your $.02?

There's been three SCOUT sized limbs so far. We're due for one more (next spring), and then the deluxe the following spring which would be '09.

A very sound opinion that I can agree with. If you genuinely feel you're gonna buy every figure that you can only get through the TFCC, then maybe yeah it's worth it. But I've never had an exclusive figure roll through that's worth my time earning the money.

The bi monthly paper is little more than ads for retailers and the comics a gimmick to keep you coming back. The botcon discounts are useful I suppose, but again, that's only if you're interested in the Kits. But then, I'm one of the few with little interest in the majority of the Classics Line.
