Interview with a fellow collector (Part 1 in a 32,994 part series)

Here's my pitch:
We have a lot of cool people with cool TF collections here.
The HMW boards (Courtesy of Mkall) conducted a series of successful interviews of players over a period of time. I see no reason as to why we can not replicate such an achievement here. There are a lot of interesting folks, with interesting stories, and awesome collections of toys (both large and small).
All this being the case, I would like to, with your support, start a series of interviews. These would be voluntary, free form over an instant messenger service, and we could even take questions from the audience as we decide who is up first.
What I would really like to incorporate, is pictures of your collections and if possible, you and your stuff. For instance, a picture of you with your 3-5 favorite Transformers would be something genuinely cool.
Who out there in the current 32,994 members of the site, would be interested in reading such things and more importantly, can we start a list of volunteers?

I would be interested in reading interviews from different collectors. I think that would be neat since many collectors are coming from different perspectives on their collecting. I wouldn't mind being interviewed so I could share my collection too!

I'd love to be interviewed but no pictures. You guys don't need to see my face.

I'd be interested in reading it, there are quite a few colorful characters here on the boards. Not sure how interesting my collection is, or I am for that matter, but it might be fun to into a CP interrogation.

great idea.
i would be willing to be interviewed down the line, but you should certainly start this off with one of the veteren members with a larger more interesting collection.

Ditto on both counts
sounds like an interesting concept. Still don't know how interesting my collection could be when most of it is in storage. I guess I could pull some out and set them up temporarily, to get pics. But overall i think its a good idea.

Alright, since it was requested that a long standing member of the board be chosen (hell, maybe it will actually be Chosen) is there any such brave volunteer to step up?
Or would you all like to start the nomination process?

Sounds like a cool idea. Perhaps we can start with you?

Sometime later, I've no qualms with showing my face online, but I am sort of lazy. So I'd submit if it was my turn or something.

I'm more of a middle standing member/staffer as there are plenty older folks, but I'd be up for an interview.

I like this idea, CP. And since we've all seen glimpses of the
massive hording that is YOUR collection, I second kirbenvost's
recommendation of starting with you.

I'll be happy to do one, but I'd like to get 3 or 4 other members up first, if only we had a victim...mmI mean voluneer...

Perfect.
You'll be #1 in this potentially long standing series.
Congrats.
Fellow board members, please begin to submit questions that you'd like to pose to Fender Bender.
I will select 5 of them to add to my interview.

I'm game, please make me interview candidate number 42. After conferring with a group of furry mice they told me that was a very special number. So long, and thanks for all the Transformers.

Some of the obvious questions:
How long have you been collecting Transformers?
Are there any methods to your collecting habits? (Such as by character, by line, or G1 homages, etc...)
Tell us a story about you and your Transformers. (For example, a gift from a special person, a happy Christmas morning, a TF hunting trip gone well or seriously wrong, etc...).
Tell us about yourself. Share a bit about your life outside of Seibertron.com.
Tell us your favorite dirty joke.

Small collections will be just as welcome as large ones!
We'll keep track of anyone interested. After the first interview I will use input from the interviewed person, board members, and my own thoughts to pick the next canidate.
But for now, keep those questions coming! The interview will be held early next week and posted almost immediately afterwards.

Mkall's were boring! Mine were so much more fun!
And ahhh....i'll volunteer if you want.
Only downside is I wouldn't have many pics of my collection as due to a lack of space most of them are boxed up.
Except for the kitbashes, they get to stay on display.

What's the most you ever spent on a Transformer?
Have your Transformers ever spoken to you? If so did you follow their commands?
Do you have a favorite line or series?
Do you have family or friends that share your love for the hobby?
Do you have a favorite episode of a Transformers cartoon?
If you could have a functional, lifesize version of any Transformer, which one would you choose?
