Barricade MISB for how much...? What in the world would possess someone to spend this much for Barricade? I guess maybe it was a combination of not really knowing the going price mixed with being stubborn mixed with really loving it? Who knows?
Is there something about this particular Barricade that I missed that would make it go for so much? It seems pretty straight up.

It looks like there were a few people fighting over it.

Sorta weird though... when I saw that I drove one mile to my local Fred Meyer and picked one up for $9.99 (one left)...it has a nice dent in the top of the packaging but oh well. Barricade is still sweet.

That is ridiculous. I laugh at people who are willing to part with 5 times what a figure is worth, simply because they cannot wait a few weeks for the shelves to be restocked.
It would of course be different if Hasbro came out and said "We are not making anymore normal Barricade's, only the crappy reapint" or something along those lines.
But they haven't and won't so its plain "more money than sense" with these people.

I bet the sellers not complaining

It is a mad price, if I wanted Barricade that badly I could order him from Japan for just £5 over the rrp.

Yeah, I remember years ago when I got into a bidding fight with someone over the BotCon TF movie score CD (the two-disc set with all the Vince DiCola stuff). I had one of those "What the hell am I doing?" moments when I had pushed the other guy's bid up over $100 (I ended up getting one much cheaper later on). The best part was that the seller ended up getting a negative feedback on the deal since it turned out to be a burned copy and wasn't listed as such.

Nope, there's nothing special about Barricade.
A couple of the bidders are pretty new, plus it is a hassle trying to actually find deluxe figures anywhere right now/or they sell out pretty quick. But hey, good for the seller

Ignorance coupled with lack of patience. It amazes me how people just refuse to do fundamental research.

Good thing i got my Deluxes at $9.99, before the movie came out.
Except for BB Concept and Arcee, which came out after the movie. Luckily, got them at $15 a piece.

And it started at a penny...so it's not like the seller was demanding that money. And the shipping cost was reasonable. Pretty awesome for him though.

Total price of $59.50??? That's too much.
Maybe the buyer is in a country where TF toys are not offered, or very scarce.
Such as Afganistan and Iraq?

if that were the case i dont think they would be spending that much money on a toy.... let alone, i dont even think the movie was released there, or was it? i could be wrong.

Nah don't think so, he could've picked other BIN listings for $15-$25 + shipping.
For a $59 deluxe Barricade, it better come with a push button that will auto-morph itself from Deluxe class to Leader class.
Cheers!

In such war-torn places, there's bound to be a few super-rich warlords, who endulges in every kind of luxury the West can offer.

I thought pick other BIN LADEN listings.
I'll be contented with a $59 Deluxe Barricade if it has high quality paint job and accurately detailed interior, with transparent windows all around. Plus robot mode that don't have see-thru holes.

well, they only ship to the U.S., which rules out war-torn countries, and ordinarily means it's less likely to sell so high.
Maybe it's some rich parent who'll stop at nothing to keep their kid happy, or someone outside the collector set buying a gift for someone else.

Why would you say that? I mean, the auction started at a penny, so the seller is obviously not forcing people to start that high, and the winning bidder...well...won.

true. but from my experience, some people end up not paying for the things they won. in this case it was just probably two people wh got into a bidding war and one just wanted to outbid the other. i guess one guy just wanted to make the other guy lose no matter what, intending in the end to not even pay for it.

I hate assholes that do that, though...i've had to eat ebay fees a couple times because of it. One guy thought he had the upper hand and tried to re-negotiate the price, wasn't very happy when I second-chanced the item to the next guy and he took it. Told the first guy I wasn't negotiating.
