I Just Got My Tax Return Check! Help Me Spend It!

I just got my federal tax return check and about half of it ($600 or so) will be used to buy some new Transformers and comic books. I already have $90 earmarked for a Masterpiece Starscream and I was wondering what else I should get. I've been looking at a bunch of stuff but I'm not quite sure about some of it. Are the Hybrid Style and Revoltechs worth it? Should I grab a bunch of reissues or exclusives I'm missing? Should I go for one or two huge purchases or spread it out a bit? Any advise on this will be greatly appreciated.

Invest it towards your retirement. But if you're planning to die young then spend it on MP Megatron.

MP-megs, or better yet, Spend 130 and pick up the 1/48 Macross VF-1S Skull leader Hikaru. It's the closest you'll get to a Masterpiece Jetfire. Hell, put some reprolabels on it and it is Jetfire. You can even spend another 50 and get his armor, which is fairly identical save for a BIG ASS cannon on one of the boosters. Just paint it red.

This is something that I don't understand. Why is the Macross armor so expensive? Is it made of die-cast?

Because yamato milks it (cause you need to get the Armor is you have anything from DYRL). Plus they know we'll pay it....and then for people in the US there is the import cost that also hikes them up. They are nice though.... I have 3 (Regular, Miria and Stealth).

As for your tax return.... Invest it wisely like a savings account, debt, something you need.....

Or buy lots of Transformers. It's your money :p

I'd go the MP/BT/BTA route myself, and the Hybrids Revoltechs as well.

Hybrid 02 Prime and and his black counterpart--worth it!
Revoltech-- Not worth it!! :?

Give it to Ryan for a new camera!

How about some vintage G1 stuff, or the GodMagnus/ matrix Blade set?

The wonderful thing about being married, tax returns are no longer yours 'alone' so you feel compelled to do something for the good of all with the whole thing rather than what you are doing, banking part, and spending part, you lucky bloke.

I'd be frivilous and go for two big vintage exclusives, or something, but that's me...and I also don't know what you have so I can't really make a suggestion, but any japanese G1 vintage item that was not released stateside is what I would go for.

i would gladly help you spend it, just pass it along :)

if you don't have the hybrids, the ths-02 is a nice little figure to have. the new revoltechs are also all kinds of awesome.

Have of you is right but the other half is a filth liar! :P

I would recomment THS02b as it is just gorgeous as it the original. THS01 is also nice, but has it's flaws(wings more then anythign) I would recommend the Revoltech (that's what makes TT24 a liar!) If you like titaniums I'd say pick up some of the newer moulds available. Rodimus, RID Prime, Fallen, WW Starscream are all amazing.

If you want to drop almost the whole thing on one figure, I'd go with e-hobbys gold repaint of Rodimus ( I think they called it Primus, not 100% sure though) or you could spend that and some of your own coin and get the Uber rare and almost pointless Luckydraw figures off of ebay.

But to be honest, I'd say save it and use it when your in a pinch. That's the hypocrite comming out in me:wink:

You could always put it away for something important down the road.

Or open a high interest CD to start a nest egg.

You could make a donation to the Sylus Charity, all proceeds go directly to my wallet.

Ya, that idea is way better then mine. Better to have money down the road then for the moment.

I guess what I would honestly do is buy ONE thing. Maybe drop 100 and get a nice MIB G1. The reason I say one thing is because you'll have more money, and if you limit yourself you'll appreciate the one you chose even more.
