We are all here because we love transformers toys and collecting them some of us only do Mint in sealed box (MISB) or Mint on card (MOC)
Some of us only Do loose for display and play.
I thought I was the odd one to be Half and Half thanks to a spike maul post I was seeing other half and half's the HHC ( half and half collectors)
My collection is half open and sealed but very rarely doubles.

to start with my G1 I do not own a boxed G1 anything mainly I love to display them G1's are truly special like art to me and I did not grow up with them there just neato, but trust me if I found a boxed G1 TF for right price I would have it and leave it MISB :P

I have few open G2 and I had to go and open the big Unicron that was really a hard one to open took me a month or 2 to convince my self to open it so hard sometimes to cut that cord Yea he is a badass.
I have alternators open and sealed more sealed then opened they take less room stacked for now ,
beast wars mostly open, 20th prime open and sealed
movie figures a few open most sealed for now, had to open barricade and G1 Painted jazz.
a few reissues left MISB cannot bring my self to open them.
A few of the classic line open and selded and by the way on the classic line Open the classic prime if you have him open him NOW that figure is a great display piece does not deserve to be stuck in truck mode best display prime ever, I opened starscream kinda wish I did not,
anyone else ever get Openers Remorce. :-(

If you are like me Welcome to the HHC society

Lets hear what your Half and Half is. :PEACE:

I display/play and keep loose, however, all of my figures bought as of my collection restart have boxes and cards in tact in good storage.

My collection is (mostly) open... In my mind there just isn't a good reason to NOT enjoy playing with the figures when you get the chance... That said though, I have to admit that I do have most of my Transformers' boxes (sans some Basics & Deluxes) stored away in a closet in my apartment...

I only have a few 'figures' still in their boxes:
-The Toys'R'Us exclusive 'metallic' repaint of the 3" Titanium Prime & Bumblebee (as I already have the 'regular' figures)
-A Legends of Cybertron Sunstorm (he looks to neat to open up!)
-the recent Mountain Dew promotional Pepsi Optimus Prime... and the only reason he's sealed up is because I already have a Pepsi Convoy... but I put him back in his packaging & am displaying them both side-by-side!

I am a MOC collector that tries to get doubles to have one MOC and one open. Then if I come across any others that I like and pick up, I keep them MOC. So, I may have one open and one MOC or 5 MOC and one opened or if it is really valuable, I might have a couple or several MOC and none opened.

I opened about half of my figures, but I keep the boxes. 2 reasons for keeping them sealed: I have at least 3 dozen marvel legends competing for space on my shelf with my TFs, and MISB TFs are easier to keep in boxes. My comic collections takes the bulk of my collectible space though.
As soon as I organize my room, I'm going to liberate them from their packaging.

All my figures are opened and removed from their boxes.
To me they'll always be toys just like they were in my childhood. Toys are for playing with, not just displaying sealed in a box. Even if playing with them nowadays only consists of transforming them every once in a while and setting them up in different poses for display.

To me, leaving them sealed in their boxes defeats the purpose of them being transformers. They might as well just be model cars or statues of robots if you never get to pose or transform them.

I don't leave them inside the box. Not worth the money you paid for if you do that.

Open them up. Enjoy them!

i'm 100% open the box. Keeping transformers in the box to me says "for the right price, you can have this" and in my case, they're all mine mine mine forever!

I've got like 2 movie figures I'm not opening up. The rest are opened, cleaned, and repainted to look realistic. I collect and display. No hoarding hella mint unopened toys. :-?

Mine are all displayed, even duplicates. Why buy a TF to keep in packaging? Kinda defeats the name transformers.

If I happen to end up with a duplicate, the duplicate will stay in the box/on the card. First "copies" will be freed from their plastic prisons, however...mwahahaha!

Transformers must be freed from their plastic prisions!!!!!!

Except for the Pepsi Optimus Prime I won through that Mt Dew promotion. He's staying in the box, waiting for that hopeful day when I get to meet Peter Cullen, so he can sign it.

Nope, but I'd rather have a Prime as opposed to a drone anyday.

Also I forgot to add that another reason why I'm not opening it is because I already have Pepsi Convoy. Hell, I even took a TF Pepsi bottle & filled it with pink hair gel to make it look like he's toting around a tanker trailer full of energon.

I open all of mine. I don't understand the point of MISB collecting.

I'm another one that only has loose figures, Transformers and other wise. I just like to pose them and transform them from time to time. I suppose it helps me think I get my money's worth out of them. I did grow with these guys as my favorite cartoon and toy and it really takes me back to Transform my Classics Starscream, per se.

However, I do find a certain elegance to MISB collections. They just look very nice when diplayed properly. I just don't have the will power for that  Then there are those with two of each figure, one MISB and one loose. I hate those people, lol. Well, maybe not them, but their ability to buy that many TFs.

As far as G1's I only have loose or Mint in Box. I don't buy them in Sealed Boxes, ever, because these are figures that were my childhood heros that I didn't get to own when I was a kid. G1's are special to me that way and do require a save up of funds to find them close to mint. I wouldn't be able to leave them MISB so I just don't buy them MISB.

I have, however, left many of my Alts inbox or bought doubles. Same with the Classics line and Movie bots. These Action figs are also special to me but I don't have the personal need to have them opened as I do with G1s.

Classifies me as a Half and Half. ;)^

But sometimes curiosity does get the best of me, so yes Clusterprime, I have had Openers Remorce. #-o
Like the time I had to run back to the store for a second MISB Classics Devastator.......cuz I opened the first one.........

I'm definetly a HHC member.
All of my G1's are opened. Had them since I was a kid. They were well played with, but also well taken care of. I'm like Spike Maul...no way I would buy a MISB G1. I'd much rather have a 100% loose complete to display. The only G1 I have who is MIB is Jetfire. If you want to hear a funny Ebay story about my G1 Jetfire ask me or Spike Maul. We'll be glad to fill you in...lol.

My Classics line is all opened and displayed except for the second Devastator and Jetfire I bought to keep MISB.

My Alternator line is all opened and displayed except for Roolbar and Ricochet (no room to display them just yet), and SDCC Rodimus (bought him to keep MISB for an investment).

My Masterpiece line is all opened and displayed. No way I'm gonna keep those guys in the box. They are WAYYYY to cool for that!!!

Now comes the new movie toys line. I'm trying to get 2 complete sets. One to open, and one to keep MISB. My thoughts on that are: To me it feels like 1984 again. I wish I had kept the boxes for my G1's just for the investment part of it. I didn't, so now all I have is 100% loose complete with tech specs and decoders.
I feel like in 20 years these movie toys will be up there where the G1's are today. I'd like to have a complete set unopened if I ever want to sell them to put the money back into my collection. I probably won't sell them, but you never know. I did open all my Decepticons, but my Autobots are still MISB. I'm working on getting all the Con's again to keep MISB.

My Reissue line is being kept MISB for investment purposes. The only one I have MIB (bought him that way) is Predaking. His stickers were applied before I bought him. I got a good deal on him so I couldn't pass him up. All the others are MISB, never opened. Gonna display them in the boxes when I get some shelves up.

So in closing I'm definetly a HHC kinda guy. Only buy doubles if it's something that I just have to open (like Leader class Brawl). He's too damn cool to leave in the box, but I want a complete movie line in box set so I'm gonna have to buy another one. Thank God my wife is understanding about my addiction to Transformers!!!

Thanks for listening to my rant,
SP

Now that you mention it, my starscream does kinda have a squeaky voice.

Only had a handful of G1 growing up. I'm going to get around to purchasing those later. Bought a handful of beast wars when they came out to relive my childhood. I don't regret opening TM2 megatron because that is one bad dragon but I wouldn't mind a MISB one. Bought a couple of alternators when they first came out but didn't get around to opening them because of no space or buying extras because of no money. Now, with they're ridiculous prices and cancellation I'm trying to build a complete set and can't afford to pay +$50 and open them so I will also purchase loose ones as I come across deals. Classics are half open. They're have such great playability. Really torn on the movie line. They look great in alt mode and great in robot mode but playability is non-existent. I've bought doubles of the one in the movie, MOSC the singles I know I won't play with (Arcee, Final Battle Jazz, etc.) and
will get around to opening the other singles later.

In the past three months I've bought so many but I limit myself to opening one box or set a week/special occasions.
