Transformers Attacktix Figures Being Pulled From Shelves?

We have some possible bad news for Transformers Attacktix fans. According to TFW2005, Hasbro has begun pulling Transformers Attacktix products off of Target and Wal-Mart store shelves. The items are being returned to vendor. This looks like a move to make room for Transformers Movie line products.

Removing crap to make room for crap? Oh well. They just recently raised the price on them too.

I just put a case of these out last night at Target

The movie toys aren't coming out until June

It's also possible that the line hasn't sold well; every time I go to Target or Walmart, these figures (along with their Star Wars and Marvel counterparts) are still cluttering up the shelves.

Could be, as a IM buddy mentioned, the whole "blind box" thing.

Yeah there were, me and several other people on here I know.

My son also thought they were really awesome toys.

It sucks that Hasbro has to bungle all their good products.

And as far as them not moving, they sell out at the stores around me all the time.

They also sell around where I live, and fast.

I was in a Target and there was a mother trying to buy some Attacktix toys for her kid, but she didn't want to get all the same guys. She wanted to know what was in the box and I explained to her that they were blind packed, and what that was. She just looked disgusted and threw them down. She had no intention of buying something she couldn't see so she didn't if she wasn't getting the same ones twice. I don't blame her.

I must admit the whole blind thing is a turn off.

I think there might be a quality problem. I've bought two packs (three if you count the Star Wars pack I bought) and, in each pack, at least one of them was broken.

Yeah but it's like collecting sports cards. You might get a million no bodies before you get a some body you want.

But it does make it rather annoying.

If the game was fun, I wouldn't mind at all.

I picked up the starter and 4 booster packs of this game. Pretty happy with what I got:

Pack 1 - Optimus
Pack 2 - Megatron
Pack 3 - Optimus
Pack 4 - Starscream

I also dont know how 'random' the packaging is. In both packs with Optimus the other figure was a Decipticlone so Im thinking that while the packs are blind youll always get the same 2 figures together.

As for them being recalled, my local Target is suddenly out of stock which would fit. My local Wal*Mart on the other hand has plenty and just put a new starter on the shelves with a bonus Dectipclone repaint figure which is weird if they are being sent back.

Damn, I was hoping wave 2 would be released around the same time as the movie crap so I'd still have something decent to buy.

At least they arent getting a total removal from the shelves (which really could be a possibility with their firepower!)

This is apparently being done by Hasbro vendors, not necessarily the staff of your local Targets/WalMarts.

I don't blame her. Buying something blindly is simply a marketing scheme to buy more in hope of getting the ones that you do want.
