It (Classics) did stop, but these designs will be used under the Universe line.

I think it's just mean of them to give us those pics this summer and then tell us we have to wait a year for the toys to actually reach the shelves...
Man I hate linear time...

As in 2008 Fall.
Once the Animated line has settled in and replaced all the Movie merch as the main Transformers line.

Hello new guy here
Does anyone know if these are going to be available in the U.K, as the old universe line was never released over here at mass retail.

Well have a whole year to wait to see the prototypes and the others in the fall release, sounds like they are going to try and do a similar size release that they did for classics the first time around.

These guys will be a secondary line, similar to Alternators and Titaniums, so there is a good chance that they will get much better distribution that the original Universe line.
The fact that the Classics sold so well all over the world would certainly help their chances too.

I had hoped that since the first Classics line did so well that they would just get new toys up and going ASAP. Maybe I totally underestimate how long it takes to design and produce a high quality toy like the classics, but damn it I would so love these new ones to be out in December or January.
OH well, I hope the Animated line will tide me over long enough... whenever that comes out next year...

Hasbro has to go back to Classics. It's got big potentials. Hundreds of well-known characters to choose from. Plus a ready market. Needs no introduction nor sales pitch.
Unlike the Movie's limited 11 major characters, plus 2 mini-characters. With designs not easily digestible to some folks.
Extended Allspark series may not be a sure hit either.

AVAST THERE! Local off the starboard bow! Welcome ye t' the good ship Seibertron (or the Jolly Ryan, as we ought t' be callin' her!). Ye be mindful of those nuts, y'hear? Me bosun was skiddin' all over the deck...

be goin' back to th' Classics, an' all...

Yep, the Classics line is to continue next fall under the name Universe.
10 new deluxes, and 4 ultra figures if I remember.
Apparently, the Sunstreaker/ Sideswipe mould can tf two different ways to make different looking bots.
If this is true, it's a huge step in tf design.
It may pave the way for the double-spy Punch/Counterpunch.

I'd expect to see Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen too.
Hasbro want to capitalise on repaints. And we all know us hardcore fans would jump at the chance to buy the Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen repaint "rip off" again.

Which leaves the question of: did Hasbro have their fingers crossed behind their back when they promised Botcon they wouldn't make a Classics Thundercracker?

Cos you know we'd trip over our own feet in the rush to complete the Classics seeker set without paying a few hundred dollars.
Trying to think who else they could get away with mould sharing. Huffer/Pipes, perhaps?

I bet they may well release the last three, or at least Thundercracker.
They'll just have different paint apps is all.
I'd say Huffer and Pipes is actually a likely. They love repaints do Hasbro.

Thinking about it, a lot of G1 minibots had their moulds reused later. Wonder if that means Gears and Brawn are possibilites as well? And on the 'Con side, you've got Laserbeak/Buzzsaw and Rumble/Frenzy (RIBFIR).

If Hasbro release Dirge they should retool the wings so they are more G1 accurate then it would be significantly different from the Botcon version which was a straight repaint of Classics Ramjet.

Since they are more than likely going to be Deluxes, I won't be touching the Lambo Bros.
Just hate the lack of scale between Hot Rod and Starscream in the earlier line. If they'd only repainted Cybertron Clocker/Swerve as Hot Rod, I'd be well pleased. I mean, Classics had 2 Primes and Megatrons anyway.
That said, I'd love a nice Voyager Octane. Looking forward to Galvatron too.
Classics need basics even if they are repaints.
Clocker for Hot Rod
Shortround for Seaspray
E Strongarm for Roadbuster
Cybertron Swindle for Ruckus
Overhaul for Crankcase
And while I'm at it, Titanium WW Starscream for G1 Windsweeper

Finally Sideswipe!I never saw it, I'm a late jumper. Definatly buying.
Octane looks slick too.
Get it? He carries oil,
slick?

If they want to release figures for automatic repaints, then Trailbreaker/Hoist and Inferno/Grapple come to mind too.
Red Alert can make a third Lambo brother.
I'd be more surprised if a Sunstorm Seeker was never released, I feel that he is an almost inevitable repaint these days.

They pretty much did in Cybertron.
