Do you guys think that the new classics 2.0/universe will have some older classics line figures just put in there? Well okay, there will be new figures I'm just saying if Hasbro will put some older classics figures together with the new classics line as well. The thing is that, I'm trying to get as many classics figures that I missed as much as possible.

It all depends on how well the Classics 2.0 / Universe line does. If it is as successful as the original Classics lines, I can see Hasbro re-using some if not all the original Classics figures at one point or another to fill out the line.
Repaints could be a possibility for some figures, although Astrotrain and Starscream/Ramjet should be the only toys of those particular molds.

Maybe in some more twinpacks? I couldn't see them doing it any other way.

Yeah! How original and exciting that would be!

Seriously I was under the impression Classics was suppose to be a G1 redo, Nemisis Prime just wouldn't fit, however now the term Universe has been tacked on I guess anything could happen. Thankfully Hasbro seem to have adopted the white Ultra Magnus repaint over the Takara-style black repaint of late, a good thing IMO.

A cartoon-accurate repaint of astrotrain would be nice.

That's not quite possible.
Different transformations, different deco.

He said a cartoon accurate 'repaint' not a cartoon accurate redesign. Simply repainting him in dark gray, black and purple would do the trick. I think that would be pretty cool, and a distict possiblity considering how easy it would be for Hasbro to do and therefore get more use out of the mould.

By cartoon-accurate I really just meant the right colours. I really like this custom:

Either Q1 or Q2 2008. Once the Animated series has taken over the main spot on the shelves.

This release date info jumps around more than a flea on red cordial. When they first announced it, it was summer 08, and has been everything from December 07 to March 09.

That's the way Hasbro should have gone with their Astrotrain. They can make amends with a repaint in Classics 2.0

"Should have gone"? Arr, curse y'r 'toonie hide! That might be satisfyin' the likes of you, but I'd be havin' to repaint him in toy colours!

That was mentioned to Pete at botcon. They said they'd think about it/look into it. But I wouldn't put any money on it. Didn't seem to interested when mentioned. But I too would like a cartoon accurate Astrotrain.

I dont think I would want to get the animated line, not until good reviews. So far, looking at the pictures, they look like **** to me. So, I should just try to keep getting the original classics line as much as I should huh?
