Yes, free him from his box/bubble.
You cannot truly appreciate or hate a figure unless you have transformed it a few times at the very least.

To make urself feel even better, go buy the reprolabels for it

That way you "had to" open to apply the cool stickers

And you set a good example. Always make sure you get other Seibertron posters to OK your opening a TF.

Alternators/Binaltechs make it especially hard to decide open or not. I've decided to collect one set MISB and another set loose for play/display. I know as a recent-start collector, I have an uphill battle, but I'll get there someday. Hope you will enjoy your Camshaft.
Cheers!

The Meister/Shockwave Mazda mold is one of the best of the Alternators, great poseability, articulation, and a decent sized weapon
Don't have Streaker, but I have his 'brother' Dead End, and een though he is a right royal pain in the backside to transform, he too looks excellent in both modes.
Hope that makes you wanna open them more now

Open it for Cristsake! Are you a Transformers collector or a box collector? Camshaft isnt even rare (or good IMO) what's the point of keeping him MISB?

Well I just get sick an tired of people agonising over opening a box. It's just a toy, a toy in a box, if you keep it in the box you may as well not have got it in the first place, unless you love collecting boxes or you plan to sell it on. Camshaft isn't even rare, valuable or popular, it's not even in a particularly impressive or unusual box, you really will gain nothing from keeping it MISB.

Actually, here in the States, Camshaft is rare, valuable and popular (due to the frist two things).
Be prepared when you open him though. His shoulders are misassembled. Fixing them is absolutely no fun.

A hard to find ugly Prowl repaint as an obsure G1 character with no personality with misassebled shoulders? I take it back, no wonder he wants to keep it in the box!

I like him.
The blue and silver is quite nice once you see it first hand. The car is a kind of flat silver color that is different than the other silver vehicles in the line.
Maybe I just like him because he's a rare oddity. I don't even know. Where's my f'n coffee?

One piece of Camshaft MISB might not move you, but seeing whole gang of 27 MISB mounted up in front of you will just blow you away.
Cheers!

Antagonizing over opening the box is half the fun! It's like the whole week before Christmas when the tree if filled with presents. I have all of the in-the-movie transformers but I only allow myself to open one box a week and it has extended my enjoyment of the movie line way past the movie expiration date. Ironhide, ratchet, and blackout are still screaming to get out of their prison!!!

just asking the question pretty much means that you're leaning towards opening it or really wanna open it so i say open it and enjoy the figure.

You have to open as you need to check if it is broken.

Open him, apply some paint or decals, and call him Bluestreak. It makes more sense for a sculptmate to Prowl, anyway. Give Camshaft/Bluestreak the lambo door mod and Prowl the leg mod so that they're differentiated. You then have two distinct enough transformers to make them more than worthwhile to display next to each other.
