What's up with eHobby? Why haven't they posted BT-17 Black Convoy on their website yet? The figure was released 5 days ago as an e-Hobby Exclusive but I can't find him. Is e-Hobby usually like this?

http://www.e-hobby.co.jp/

Has anyone found him for sale anywhere else?

Isn't he a convention exclusive like his altinators counterpart?

I know the packaging was a cheap version of the god aweful Alt bubble packaging.

Yes, he was released at the show, but I heard rumors that eHobby was also going to carry him since he was an eHobby Exclusive.

He was never advertised as such. So eHobby is not gonna carry it as far as I know.

if you can find one, find me an atariscream. not a big fan of the kissplay girls, but a tribute to screamer is still a must for my collection in any book.

Welcome back GoldRabbit. I've been asking about you. The threads don't seem the same without your added toy knowledge.

They have him up for sale right now! I was tempted but then I saw the price tag.

Robotkingdom are very good by the way. If you order your BT-17 from them they'll package it really really well and get it to you in something like 10 days. I've bought BT Red Meister, BT Ravage and BT Laserwave from them so far and never had a problem.

If you get one, let me know if he's worth it, please?!

If either of you have it, it would be interesting to have a comparison shot or two with the BT version and the ALT.

Does anyone know how many were made? A fan from another site, that attended the conference, said that BT-17 sold out in 1.25 hours. Customers were limited to (4) BT-17 each.

Hypothetically, if there were (4) tellers and they each were able to process 100 customers in 1.25 hours, and each customer purchased (4) BT-17, that means there were about (1600) BT-17 at the event.

Is it safe to say that Takara made less 3,000 of these?

nothing official here, but i've read a low of 300 and a high of 1000. Either one could just have been used to induce the "high demand, low quantity, buy buy buy!" mindset.

i find the 300 to be unlikely as that would make it even more rare than some of the "lucky draw" figures.

Is there really anything different between the two? I got an Alt. one for 45 including shipping, so I'm not getting it, but I'd be interested in seeing the difference.

And that is my 500th stupid comment on this wonderful site 8) .

grats on your 500th stupid comment. Aside from the diecast, takara paid more attention to the details in painting. From pictures i have seen of both, the bt version is far more impressive...wheter or not it is $200+ more impressive is up to interpretation.

As for the #'s produced. Robotkingdom has once again updated there description, reducing cost back down to 249.99(had gone up to 289 then down to 279) and stating that the word from takara is that 800 were produced.

It is official now. But limited quantities and you must be a Japanese resident.

According to the Universal Currency Converter 6500 Yen converts to $ 55,65. Not bad though.
