What do you guys think is the likelyhood of Hasbro releasing MP Skywarp and Thundercracker?

Well with the US release of Starscream on the horizon, what possible domestic releases of Skywarp and Thundercracker do you think Hasbro would have? It seems silly to know that they are gonna sell out for the US painted version very quickly and from the old school collector's market stand point, we have the dough to buy em up, if given a proper US release.. do you guys see this as an eventual possibility? will we see those same Masterpiece toys arrive in t now standard packaging, like that of Starscream and the 20th Optimus Prime DVD collection?

I think its a big possiblity. If the sales of MP Starscream are good (lol) they should be more than determined to slap Skywarp and TC out there.

I really, really like MP Skywarp, but I cant afford any of the MP's. So Im banking on Hasbro for this cause thats how I got my 20th Prime.

Hard to say: we never got UM after all...

Or Megatron! (for obvious reasons). If Takara and Hasbro are talking, and if US Starscream sells well then I'd say Skywarp and TC could be definite releases.

However, I'm not sure Walmart saw stellar sales on DVD edition Prime, and SS might see smaller production numbers. When I went to Walmart on Tuesday night, they had no less than 30 DVD Primes out on clearance for $48.

Yea, but they will be exclusives for some shop in the US.
So I don't give a damn.

I will be both surprised and homicidal if TRU UK or the like don't stock 20th Starscream. They got in Prime, and he sold quite well. So why not?

If they don't, I suggest stopping by ToyzandGamez DM. They stock Starscream on there, along with a few other MPs.

Thanks man! :D
Sunstorm, I don't mind him but hate his character in DW and his color, I just want the real Seekers.

I don't think they could pull that off... SkW and TC are from the cartoons - Sunstorm is almost totally comic related. Too much of a niche. :(

damn the packaging on the Masterpiece US Starscream box makes me want to go out and get the DVD Prime right now!! But I already own MP-1, and the 20th Anniversary version....Arrrggghh!!

Still to have their Masterpiece line up in th same Boxes, as an MISB collector, it's very frustrating..

I think he's much more cartoon accurate than the other Masterpieces.

Yes its a possibility, there's is certainly no reason why they can't. However Skywarp and Thundercraker will never sell as well as Starscream, they just aren't as popular. Although arguably more popular than Prime repiant Ultra Magnus's Hasbro may feel like they did with MP Magnus that they wont sell well enough to justify putting them out? Only time will tell.

I don't think that's necessarily true AK, I mean Skywarp and Thundercracker are bought up routinely by collectors, they love the repaints, and if it's not popular then why would people spend the 60.00 to get the magnus/skywarp classics repaint? Why would people sell out the Botcon packs with Thundercracker and other repaints at a mortgage c-note???.... simple, because they sell.. and if they release a Skywarp and thundercracker, I'm sure it's price point and complexity are geared towards the collector, so Hasbro would be banking on their acquisition of them and not children...

oh and the string is 10 to 12 inches long..

What dont you think is true? that is a possibility? that Skywarp and Thundercraker will never sell as well as Starscream? That they may chose not to release them? How can you disagree with a guy saying maybe. maybe not?

skywarp-2 wrote:I mean Skywarp and Thundercracker are bought up routinely by collectors, they love the repaints, and if it's not popular then why would people spend the 60.00 to get the magnus/skywarp classics repaint?

Then why haven't we seem MP Ultra Magnus on the shelves at Walmart, TRU and Woolies? A main line deluxe two-pack is a far cry from a $50 supreme size collectors item. Did you know the UM/SW 2-pack went on sale in the UK due to overstocks?

skywarp-2 wrote:Why would people sell out the Botcon packs with Thundercracker and other repaints at a mortgage c-note???

Because they are crazy ass obsessive collectors, that's why! These were limited run convention exclusives, of course fans are going to go ape **** for them! Hasbro release this sort of stuff at conventions and charge the earth for them, they are over prices to start with!

skywarp-2 wrote:and if they release a Skywarp and thundercracker, I'm sure it's price point and complexity are geared towards the collector, so Hasbro would be banking on their acquisition of them and not children...

Definitely but to bank on collectors alone may not be enough, with MP Prime and Starscream (to a lesser extent) you'll get non-collectors and less obsessive TF fans recognizing the character and picking it up as a one off, this is less likely with less popular/well known characters. In addition Hasbro will have to ask themselves is there a big enough market out there who will buy a $50 repaint after they most probably bought the first? Maybe there are, maybe there isn't.

So what I'm saying is you asking a question none of us can answer, just like the string question.

What about my metric question? Where's the love...?

The UM/SkW 2-pack when on sale in the States too. After the initial frenzy because of poor distribution there wasn't enough over-all demand.

Slim to none. We would get the Ultra Magnus repaint before Skywarp or Thundercracker.

I'd like to add no chance in hell. Starscream is an iconic character, the same cannot be said of Skywarp and Thundercracker.

If it weren't for scalpers and exclusivity, the upcoming Hasbro Masterpiece Starscream would be a shelfwarmer based on price alone.
