What happens when your collections is finished? Depressing thought......

Not that I am at that point yet, but it is not that far off either.
I am one of those G1 only type of people, to the point of not owning any BTs as they do not look like G1s should. Well, thats a lie, I got Hound and Rollbar since I have a jeep.
As I was bidding on some stuff on ebay tonight, I wondered to myself, what happens when I have all the G1s, Reissues, Classics, MPs? What happens then?
Has anyone reached that point yet, where you have everything you ever wanted and when every childhood craving has been fullfilled?
What then?

Um, collect something that in the storyline counts as G1(Beasts) or something that is a reinventing of G1 that fails miserably(Armada/Energon)? or.... SAVE MONEY! or, collect another 1980's figure series?

Well, nothing after G1 really did it for me. Seemed like just a poor repackaging to me.
As for another series, I never watched anything besides Transformers as a kid as I had a very busy schedule with football and baseball practices.
Mmm, I think my gf would murder me if GI Joes suddenly started appearing around the house. lol

Save up your money and spend it by turning your jeep into a real TF

it's weird when collecting becomes a 'way of life'. when there's nothing to hunt for and you feel kind of empty. that being said, there will always be other things to collect, even staying in the transformers universe.
take the reissues, after you're done with the US ones, go after the japanese ones or exclusives.
but if you're just a fan of transformers because ... well they transform and they're cool robots, you'll find yourself picking up items from other lines, cybertron, armada, etc. i mean don't you want to have armada unicron and cybertron primus with your collection?

Well the obvious answer to me would be to enjoy what you finally have been working for. Kinda like retirement.
But if all you really want is 'the hunt', then sell'm all and start over.
Problem solved.

Start kitbashing. Once you have all the pieces that very few people have, begin creating ones that no one else has at all. If Armada Unicron doesn't look G1 enough for you, repaint him, modify him, or build your own from scratch. You get to keep your present hobby, and in a more creative way.

Never. Collecting never ends.

That sounds like a challenge to me.

You could always start with My Little Pony's.

doubt it'd ever be complete for me, I collect just about every TF line, aside from ones I don't like the overall look of (most of the energon autobots, beast machine maximals)
and even if it did, I still have my (somewhat smaller) star wars collection, my anime, manga and comic book collections, my models, warhammer minis, marvel and dc related action figures, so yeah, there'll always be something i'm collecting
