Seibertron.com member Scaleface has brought to our attention an auction for the new, as-of-yet un-named Transformers Movie Ironhide repaint. Little is known about this figure, other than it is an Autobot (see insignia on the forehead).

Yet another questionable repaint... At least make it a different character?

They should call it Pipes. Though it probably will be called Night Mud Iron Hide.

You know the Classic Trailbreaker many people are making from movie Ironhide, well, I remember I owned the Diaclone Trailbreaker and it's blue. So this could become Classic Diaclone Trailbreaker?

The only improvement is the Autobot emblem on his forehead. I kinda like that, otherwise it looks corny IMO, especially the 'mud'.

I would say it's part of the AllSpark line, not Classics

The blue doesn't look too bad. 2 problems though...
1) Red would look 100x better
2) I just got the black version...

Also, its mis-transformed. He's supposed to fold the doors back.

looks more like Ironhide took a mudwrestling course and dipped himself in blue ****

(I don't even wanna know what was in the blue thingie

)
Next repaint of Ironhide must be like red (as main color) a bit white and black

would look like a bowl of kickass

I don't want to get into the whole red thing, but does anyone else agree that the blue shows off more of sculpt details than black.
My biggest problem with this figure is that all those details get lost in my usualy beloved all consuming black.

I don't think red would look any better. People just want a red Ironhide because, you know, Ironhide was red that one time... you know, 20 years ago.
People kitbashed him into Trailbreaker because whenever there is a black pickup truck Transformer, well, it has to be Trailbreaker, there's no other possibility... because, you know, G1 had that black pickup truck 20 years ago, so now all characters have to play by the precedence set by G1, and are not allowed to deviate at all.
Now I must go repaint my Cybertron Landmine bright neon green and purple, because it's against the law of the fandom to have a construction-vehicle TF that is not painted in the Constructicon colours...

Given the back of his head, if your going to make him blue why not tern him into Soundwave?

I'm noticing a hint of sarcasm here.
Seriously though, I really don't like the blue with the mud. I like black lots better.

Yes, I totally agree with Liege and Skowl. Black is cool, because I think of Ironhide as The Intimidator of the Autobots, and because the G1 Ironhide/Ratchet mold was *first* seen in black in Diaclone. But blue *does* show of the scult details better than black, and, like Skowl said, I don't know if red would really be any better than black or blue.
Personally, my black Ironhide doesn't have any paint detail on his face. I know some of ya'll were lucky enough to get Ironhides with face paint, but I was not so lucky. So I'm thinking of using the reprolabel Trailbreaker set to turn black Ironhide into Trailbreaker (more because we don't *have* a modern Trailbreaker figure than to make it more G1), and have this blue Ironhide be the Ironhide of my collection, since the blue shows off the mold details better.
That's just my take on things, though.
