Revoltech Convoy

Yesterday, I picked up Revoltech Megatron from my local Future Zone gamestore and I dig the figure's sculpt, design and poseability. He's also the only G1 Megatron I've got.

Future Zone had some Convoy Revoltechs as well. I don't like his sculpt as much as Megatron's, sinch the pinhead and large legs are much more apparent on a vehicle based transformer. He looks like he'd turn in a rather deformed truck. I'm also already in the possession of a G1-styled Prime, the Classics Deluxe one from the Ultimate Battle box set.

To those people who own Revoltech Convoy, or his repaint Ultra Magnus, how cool is this figure compared to Megatron? Do the posability and the figure's 'presence' help to overlook his misproportions? How good do Prime and Megs look in fighting poses. How cool are the Ion Rifle and Matrix accessories?

Revoltech Convoy is a very solid "meh." It has mountains of stuff working against it. It's based on the Pat Lee design which means tiny head, giant breasts, and a terrible proportion. The Matrix accessory is completely worthless for this figure. You can get some very nice poses out of it, but that's about all I can really say about it. If you have a display of a bunch of Convoy/Optimus Prime figures, it's a cute little addition, but there are at least a dozen better Convoy/Optimus Prime figures readily available. If you can get one for under 20 dollars, it's not a terrible deal.

Yeah, the Convoy isn't all that great. Personally, what I did was buy THS-02 instead; not only is it better looking, it's still pretty damned poseable and comes with a ton of accessories.

I really like the Revoltech Convoy.

Is he the best little Prime out there, probablynot. Is he fun and poseable in the same vein as Revoltech Megs, absolutely. Definately worth the 25 bucks.
