ACT 484: Metallic Megatron.
Also known as "Authentic," this figure is to be released through the big-box electronics retailer Best Buy. The final release of the figure's in-box, will prominently feature the "Best Buy exclusive sticker" (Which is not shown on Remy's version).
My Opinion of him:I gotta Say though, now in looking at this toy, he really comes off looking way Better then Before, and with the Metallics paint, and the golden detailing, and the stark whitish-clear Ice, it really is a must buy for me! I don't own the original Relased Megatron Voyager, so this Metallics version is a real treat for me! The ice just pops and stands out off the figure and really looks like he's been in a freezer for millions of years!! It doesn't look like Blueish feathers!! Finally, he looks like he should have been released to begin with...if only the Leader class got that kinda treatment!!
Great job Hasbro!! And thank You Best Buy!!! ;)^
See the difference???
Big difference!!!

He would look better without the ice ...
But, then his feet wouldn't stay put ... sometimes.
I guess he's cool looking though. Definitely better than the original.
Improvement, I guess I can't complain too much about it.

The color is definitely a big improvement over the original gray but that mold just sucks. I just can't get myself to like it. If they did a leader like that, I might think about it.

Megatron should have this done to him in leader class, but it looks like most retailers and the Company, Hasbro, both agree, that a few Voyagers not selling is better then a few Leader Class not selling.. so on a risk factor, they are pretty safe.. the only question I have is, why the hell do they think people are scared to buy the Super metal finish versions?? It's pretty plain to me that most if not all the people I talk to who have bought Optimus Prime and Megatron in Leader Class have wanted "Super Metal Finish" on them..especially Megatron..
And the whole Optimus Prime G-1 Repaint into the Voyager class mold is kinda pissing me off too.. I mean, come on, how many repaints of the Voyager Optimus Prime do we need?? They should have given Night Vision Prime's Paint scheme to the Voyager Mold, and made the Leader Class have the G-1 Repaint colors, in Super Metal finish..atleast then I wouldn't feel so jaded about the metallic chromium One of a Kind Optimus Prime we saw that winner get from Hasbro...
All I ask is Hasbro give us a leader Megs like this:
And give us a G-1 Style Repaint of Prime like this, with some gold detailing in certain areas and Super Metal finish everywhere.. I don't expect them to match the level of a Custom paint job, just atleast try!!!..

I know what you mean. It kinda pisses me off that I spent over $25. to get the blue/ice Megatron, and now they finally come out with a decent looking version.
What a kick to the nuts of the fans.
"Hey, now that you all bought the cruddy one, we'll release the same exact figure, but better looking."

Sorry about that... but I just had to make it apparant that this is what should have been done from the start.. plus I'm glad I held off and didn't get the Voyager Megatron that was out earlier.. many people may just say, "crap.. oh well I already have one.." which just means that the percentage of me finding him just went up, alot!!

exactly... maybe that's the reaction as to why Hasbro put a kabash on producing this in the Leader Class..since they screwed up so royally on the initial releases colors???

I plan on picking this up just to have a movie Megatron. I still don't like the mold but at least the colors are better than the others we've seen. I would have preferred leader class get this treatment but oh well.

If you take off the ice on that Best Buy megs, he'd look even better IMO.

I still can't stand the ice. If I want a metallic Megatron, I'll just paint my leader class Megs.
I'll be picking up metallic Ratchet instead.

If I don't end up getting the leader one and this version comes out here I honestly wouldn't mind getting him, looks a lot better than the blue/ice one at least..

those customs are somebody else's work, most of which can be found in our kit bashing forums.. the Optimus prime is actually done by a Member here. I like the paint jobs on both, but when it's done by a Machine in th factory, it just looks more even and nicer..IMO..
That's why I advocate Hasbro releasing a 2-Pack Metallic Battle Royal set, which would include a Megatron and G-1 Repaint Optimus Prime both in Leader Class, in super metal finish, in a Box similar to that of Ultimate Bumblebee, and be available for X-mas!!! Come on Hasbro? Would it help if I drooled and Begged on National TV???
