Does anyone know the easiest and safest way to remove the red plug from the barrel?

Mine didn't have one, I had one on preorder long before they came out so I got one of the first ones unmodified.
Most of the people I have read on the boards from say the orange plug just pops out easily. Can any clarify this for sure?

Mine didn't have a plug, but this is what I've heard are the best ways:
Grab the plug with a pair of pliers, hold onto the barrel, and twist the plug. Hopefully it should come out. If not, try blowing hot air on it with a hair dryer to soften the glue, then try again. From all reports I've heard, it shouldn't be too hard to remove. Just be careful not to damage Megatron.

I just preordered him too. He's the most expensive TF I've bought (or in the process of buying) to date.
Let me pose another question. Do you think his value will be dropped significantly due to the plug? I'm talking years from now, like how and original Megs goes for 300+ MISB.

well, if you don't plan on opening him, i would just try to search for one without the plug. Because if you got it from bbts like me, they open all the boxes and apply the plug.

he is packaged in robot mode, and no, i'm sure custom's is too busy looking for weed and bombs than toys
