A God Ginrai Question

I image getting reissue God Ginrai for $59.99 plus $8.00 shiping and handling is a good deal. I have always liked powermaster optimus prime every since I was little, and everytime I have gone look for either reissue powermaster optimus prime or reissue god ginrai it was always over a $100 so when I saw him sale for $59.99 I couldn't pass it up. Plus you can't beat seven different modes which is what I under stand he has. But my question is are there any other difference between powermaster optimus prime and god ginrai other than his back story.

What is god bomber exactly. I also know that reissue powermaster optimus prime came with god bomber except they called him apex armor or something like that.

God Bomber in Master Force combines with God Ginrai to become Super God Ginrai :)

In the US, the Hasbro re-issue called God Bomber "Apex Armor". It's the same thing really except in Headmaster's God Bomber was a real Transformer more or less. I'd think of him more as a roller type character but he could transform.

Take a look at Ryan's photogallery in the Toys section, you'll be able to spot all the differences.

The main ones besides God Bomber are that the cab is partially made out of metal, and the hands on the trailer extend and retract. Also the silver parts look more silver now rather than the grey on the old US PM Prime.

in the master force series, God Bomber was a drone that combined with Ginrai (Powermaster Prime) as armor. When Hasbro brought this guy out, the first time around PMP didn't have the Apex armor. I guess when they reissued him again a few years ago, the decided to include it. I don't know why they did not include it in the first place. I am sure Hasbro was uneasy using the name "God Bomber" in the US and changed it to Apex Armor.

As far as the toys go, the takara and Hasbro reissues are nearly identical but the Hasbro reissue has smaller smoke stacks than the Japanese release on the Ginrai figure and both have more chrome than the original Hasbro release.

edit: beaten to the punch apparently...

Godbomber was a Takara addition to the mold, it's not of Hasbro design.

Actually the smoke stacks are of equal height between Hasbro and Takara's reissues. The only noticable difference between the two is Godbomber's missle: Takara's is short and chromed, Hasbro's is long and non-chromed due to Toy Safety Laws.

Thanks I'm glad I picked up the takara version it should ship in a couple of days can't wait to finally own him, considering he ranked up there with the predacons on my list of transformers from the g1 era that I have always wanted.

The hasbro reissue wasnt really a reissue, as that mold had never been afailable from Hasbro prior ot its release. The entire reissue was just a repackaged Taraka reisue (and a damnslight better for it.

Some of the differences between Takara's version/ the reissue and hasbro's version are:
+Different length stacks (I beleive the origanal Hasbro one actully was theo ne with the longer stacks).
+Metal cab front.
+Retractable blue fists instead of none retractable red fists on the trailer.
+Godbomder (Apex Bomber). The prototype for this was a LOT better than the final product (I asume Takara decided to go with cheapness). As I understand it, innitially God Bomber was available seperate to God Ginrai, rather than togehter with him.
+I also think the Takara version had clear dark blue wintods rather than none clear dark blue ones, but Im not 100% sure, having never had the origanal and hving my reiisue one inaccessable right now.

I couldnt beleive when I found his reissue in a random comic shop (now sadly closed and replaced with a sweet shop) in Hull. PM Prime's reissue was my first ever Prime, and to this day still one of my favourites, and a fantastic example of both how amazing G1 could be, and how much being a brick isnt a bad thing.

REALLY?

The cab, well the metal makes it heavier, but it dosnt really do much else, but the trailer... you prefere to have his fists sticking out the top of his trailer in alt mode rather than having em slide in?

God bomber can be considered a upgrade on rollor.God bomber is a drone veichle that Optimus [Ginrai] controls trew a mental link and it can transform into a robot of its own and also transform into armor for Prime.

The TRU reissue and the Takara reissue are almost identical......the only difference is the missle.
What I was complaining about in my other post is the original G1 Hasbro figure vr's the origonal G1 Takara figure.

I never heard of 7 modes but to guess theres his
[#1] his truck and trailer mode.
[#2]smaller robot mode and base
[#3] Souper robot mode [front cap combines with trailer]
[#4]God bomber alt mode
[#5]God bomber hooked up to Ginrai's main trailer to form a longer transpor.
[#6]God bombers Robot mode
[#7]Ginrai and god bomber cobine to form God Ginrai

So I guess it is 7 modes.

Let me see if I have the strate about God Ginra the orignal from masterforce was an exo skeleton of sorts that some guy piloted then something happen to it and it became self aware when it was rebuilt by the autobots (cybertrones). When as powermaster optimus prime story never made any sense to me to this day. I always take an intrest in the back story of the transformers. So I'm hopeing someone can clear this up.

A short history

Powermaster Optimus Prime:

After a battle with Megatron in a video game rendered world Optimus Prime was killed. But Prime's personality had been copied onto a floppy disk [must have been a big one]by the technician running the game, Ethan Zachary, who employed him in various video game scenarios he developed. Prime's damaged mind led him to believe that he himself was a video game character, and in an attempt to bring him back to life,Fortress Max ordered Goldbug, Joyride, Slapdash and Getaway to take the disk to the planet Nebulos. There with the help of Hi-Q, a Nebulan scientist, they built a new body for Optimus Prime, and even upgraded it with the ability to combine with the trailer to form a larger robot. But in an effort to keep Transformers off their planet, the Nebulans had poisoned their fuel so that Transformer life could not survive on it, and the sensation of dying convinced Prime that he was truly alive, and not a game character. To save his life, the Nebulan scientist Hi-Q bonded with him, creating Powermaster Optimus Prime.

Ginrai:

Some years before the beginning of the series, the evil alien energy entity and self-styled "Decepticon God" known as Devil Z stole eight Transtectors from a region of space known as the G Nebula, one of which was intended to be a new body for Optimus Prime. Breaking off from the largest Transtector - Overlord - as they entered Earth's atmosphere, the other Transtectors were scattered across the planet, with most of them adopting the form of Earthly vehicles to remain hidden in plain sight.

The front cab of Optimus Primes body found its way into the hands of a garage owner in America, who rented it out.But the drivers soon began to report strange phenomena with the truck drove, but this did not dissuade Ginrai, a nineteen-year-old Japanese immigrant, from renting the truck to complete an important delivery.

In the truck's glove compartment, he discovered a set of Master-Braces - the metallic bracelets that endowed humans with the Masterforce - and donned them, completing his delivery, which was coincidentally received by the Autobot Pretender, Diver (Waverider). Recognising the Master-Braces, Diver accompanied Ginrai and explained their significance to him, only for them to be attacked by the Decepticons. Accidentally touching the bracelets as he attempted to escape the crushed cab, Ginrai was infused with the Masterforce and a suit of armor materialised around him, healing both himself and the Transtector, as they combined and transformed.

Super Ginrai:

Following a premonition, Ginrai discovered three further sets of Master-Braces in his Transtector, a portent of things to come. Events began to escalate when Ginrai's Transtector activated on its own, Ginrai was pulled to a construction site at the base of Mount Yatsugatake. Again confronted by some Decepticons, the secondary component of Ginrai's Transtector burst from within the tunnel being dug, taking the form of a trailer for his truck. Not long thereafter, in a battle with King Poseidon (Piranacon), Ginrai discovered that the two components could merge, creating "Super Ginrai." Appearing on TV in hopes of locating the remaining three Godmasters, to whom he would give the Master-Braces, Ginrai successfully located Lightfoot, Ranger and Road King, and recruited them to the Autobot side, after which the Autobot Pretender leader, Metalhawk, stepped down as Commander and requested that Ginrai take his place. After some deliberation, Ginrai accepted.

God Ginbrai:
Arriving on Earth to inform the Autobots there of the impending arrival of the Decepticon super-weapon, BlackZarak, Grand Maximus provided them with the schematics necessary to create the non-sentient drone, Godbomber. Able to connect to vehicle mode (Super) Ginrai as a tandem trailer, Godbomber could also transport the Transtectors of the three Headmaster Juniors - Cab, Shuta and Minerva - and most importantly, would be able to combine with Super Ginrai, powering him up into the new form of God Ginrai, giving him the strength necessary to battle BlackZarak. As the so-called "Bomber Project" proceeded apace under Metalhawk's command, Super Ginrai was dealt a severe defeat by the Decepticon, Overlord. Following a failed attack on the Bomber Project facility, the barely-healed Ginrai insisted upon taking the fight to the Decepticons, combining with the completed Godbomber and confronting Overlord and BlackZarak on the moon. With the aid of Grand Maximus, God Ginrai was able to force BlackZarak to retreat back into space.

Godbomber in robot and vehicle modesDuring a desert battle with Overlord, God Bomber revealed an unexpected ability by reconfiguring his components into a robot mode in response to Ginrai's threat. Later, the Headmaster Juniors discovered that they could control Godbomber in both of his modes by uniting their own Chokon Power, together matching the level used by Ginrai to control him.

With BlackZarak's return to Earth and subsequent merging with Devil Z, God Ginrai was forced into a final battle with the hybrid entity. He succeeded in decapitating the villain, but BlackZarak then assumed a new hydra alternate mode, which God Ginrai destroyed with his God Fire Guts attack. With the added power of the Headmaster Juniors from within his God Bomber components, God Ginrai then executed the almighty Final Fire Guts attack, destroying Devil Z. With the energy-being's destruction, Ginrai and the other humans were separated from their Transtectors, who continued to exist as true robot life forms, having evolved real personalities through their partnership with humans. The newly-born Transformers then departed Earth to pursue the surviving Decepticons back into space.

Your qusetion is a bit confusing. There were more Powermasters [autobot & decepticon]released in the U.S. and else where other then Optimus Prime but if I'm right they all had different names then their Japanese counterparts. But I dont understan your question about them being based on the masterforce characters???
