If takara decided to do A MP version of any of these lines would you buy them. The reason I ask is because after look at figures like overlord I was thinking dang if they did him in the MP line can you image the detail they could get for both him and his partners.

i think there's a webpage where a japanese customizer converted his binaltech hound into a headmaster. The head transforms into a small soldier with enough articulation, and the face is also hidden, if i remember correctly.

The
jizaitoys guy was the one that made the
Hound Alternator Headmaster, its on the jizaitoys website.
I was a huge fan of the Headmaster concept back in the 80's so yeah an MP version would rock.

I am a big fan of the old Head-, Target- and Powermasters so yeah, I would buy them for sure!
I actually would love the see more than just Transformers from the first two waves of original Transformers. There are so many more to choose from.
Like Nightbeat...
Like Rodimus (Hot Rod)...
Like Cyclonus...
Like, I don't know... the list goes on and on...

It would depend on the figure. I'm sure there's one particular Powermaster that every one would want: Optimus. Especially if Takara made the apex armor upgrade for him as well.

No. I would not.

Well, it'd depend on who they made, wouldn't it?
Targetmaster Cyclonus would be boss .... ditto Hot Rod. Although that's really just making their guns fancier, it does give them neat little drivers. I dunnno if they count, though. A MP alone is nice, but it really is just a fancier gun and I'd just love an MP or alt of any of the TMs from the movie. A MP (or alt) Powermaster Prime would be nice though.
I dunno if there's any headmasters I'd like ... Arcee? Fort Max would actually be good, since we finally have alot of small TFs to be able to work with him (Minicons, WSTF ... G1 Fort Max didn't have those).
And if we're covering all the "masters" lines, an MP os Deathsaurus would be great. I don't even know the character very well, just based on his looks.

The MP's we've seen so far, Optimus, Megatron, and Starcream (I'm not counting the repaints), have all been characters who've had an iteration in just about every western series. So there's a larger draw for them, while they are G1 figures they still connect with their modern day incarnations in Car Robots, Micron Legend, Superlink, Galaxy Force and now even the new animated.
We saw Scorponok twice, in Headmasters and Masterforce, Ginrai in Masterforce and Victory. But for the most part these characters were only around for a single season of the Japanese show. I can't imagine the demand for Mindwipe or Chromedome to ever equal the demand for a character like Starscream. We haven't even seen reissues of these toys.
I think to hope for a Masterpiece version would be quite a stretch.

Care to say why?-----------------------------------------

Not true. He's also been in Energon, Cybertron (admitedly not as a main charecter) and the movie (admitedly as a POS).
Whilst I can understand your argument, I dont think there is any reason why the charecter should exist outside of G1. These are not aimed at kids who go 'ooh, i know that name, mummy can I have?'. It is aimed at serious collectors, who have abit of money to spare, and who want to see the charecters from their childhood in a way never possible at the time.
The other main flaw with your argument is, there arnt really any charecters other than those three who are even vuagly compairable to a G1 counterpart that might get the MP treatment. Most have completely different personalities to their G1 counterparts, many are just reuseals of the name without even having a similer alt mode, heck, there are those that arnt even on the same side as their G1 counterpart.
-----------------------------------------
Anyway, to answer the question, yes, if the charecter warrents it. The movie charecters who later got target masters, deffinutly. PM Prime, oh yes please. I'd personally love to see an MP Hardhead (though I cant see that happening), merely for the fact that he has a really cool alt mode.
Of all the G1 gimmics, I do think the headmaster concept is the one that should be used as the main gimmic for a line again. For a start, it'd force them to keep some semblence of scale.

Can't think of a single one of the whatever-Masters I care enough about to spend £60+ on, so no.

Not sure I would be 100% behind a Masterpiece Headmaster. I doubt many people would leave it in alt mode so that the head could be detached making it nearly pointless.
However, I am pretty sure that if it were available I would buy it as the Masterpiece range is one I really love.

As most headmasters were animals or cars, it'd make sence making em smaller than the three we've had thus far (which open the door for a WHOLE HOST of G1 charecters that I have always felt deserved the treatment but wouldnt fit the size of the current MPs).
This would make the price issue less of one, and Im pretty certain I'd me more inclinde to pose em oin alt mode with some kind of driver to go with em.
Anyway, how many people honestly pose their MPs in alt mode? Whilst I agree that you have a kind of point Ravage XK, its a pretty mute point concidering few people pose their MPs in alt mode, yet they all have alt modes.
Hey I know what, lets make MPs into Actionmasterpices!
*Ducks for cover.*

I would buy them, especially if they made a Slapdash and Lube to scale with eachother.

I would seriously buy MP Headmasters or Targetmasters in the blink of an eye.
But is there really any Powermasters besides Prime that really warrant the MP treatment?

Thats too many gimmicks for me on a figure. I'd like it just plain Masterpiece.

I don't think MP Targetmasters or MP Headmasters will sell strong enough to warrant it.
After all, wasn't Ultra Magnus a shelf-warmer? I know it's unrelated to HMs and TMs, but my point is that memorable characters will sell better than a Hosehead or a Crosshair

The problem with ultra magnus was that he didn't have his trailer armor so he wasn't really ultra magnus in most peoples eyes. Were as the headmaster and targetmaster or memorable characters that had something special included with them. Who wouldn't buy mp cyclones or scourge with there partners or rodimus with his. As far as the headmasters go I think some of them would make excelent mp figures.

I'm not a big fan of the headmasters. The heads looked goofy and so were the alt modes. I can't imagine that the Masterpiece treatment could make them look that much better.
