Is there ANY chance at all of US getting MP Megatron?

Why not just package him in robot mode, and give him the orange tip, and say on the package "this is not a working firearm"? Would there be any chance at all of US getting him like that?

VERY unlikely. The fact that it transforms and looks exactly like an oversized gun is a big problem for law enforcement. And the plug hasn't exactly stayed in anyone's Megs for any length of time so that's really not a deterent. The potential headaches are probably not worth it for Hasbro or Takara. The only way I could see it happening is if it was produced in neon orange and green metal/plastic-and that would sure suck the fun out of owning him.

Short answer: No.

It's over sized. Bigger than any regular one. I've seen regular colored toy guns plugged. If Mp Megatron is released here. The plug won't be removable ,and the scope will probably have some orange too.
As Autobot032 says:

Yeah, but in the dark, the police won't be able to tell that. It's too realistic and the plug is too easy to remove. The guns I've seen on the market-cap guns, etc, are all really weird color combinations or clear plastic. No mistaking them for the real deal.
We all have to face it, it ain't going to happen. If you want one, you'd better jump on the MP version from Japan.

They should have just use some orange plastic to make part of the barrel. That way, it won't come off.
But of course, it can be repainted. Sheesh!

I don't think the question is whether we can get one, lots here in the US have, it's whether Hasbro will market a US version like they're going to do with MP Starscream. And due to US laws, it's probably not going to happen.
Touching on what you've said, I don't know of many if any cases where someone's MP Megs was seized by US customs. Has it happened?

It had better not be brought over. I paid an arm and a leg for mine and I'd feel like a dang fool if it was brought over after all that.

It might have a chance, if the entire gun is neon green with an orange tip.

Besides, don't think Hasbro want to deal with all the returns of broken Meg. When it comes to consumer rights, you bet many guys will return/exchange it with a small scratch. Let alone stressed or broken pegs (which is quite unavoidable after repeated transformation). MP Meg is awesome, but its not the kind of toy that casual buyers can handle. We just have very different buyers in the US, while its much more marketable in Japan.
Just import one if you want him.

Same thing is happening in Australia.
Except is only collectable "toy" guns that are being banned, you can still go buy a realistic looking toy gun for $2.

We have a better chance of seeing a transforming G1 Arcee than we do a domestic release of MP Megs.
