Saw this auction on Ebay...

Clicky-Clicky!

...and asked the seller a question about the box looking like it was rippled/water damaged in the picture.

He answered awhile later saying that's the way the cellophane/paper wrap on MP-01 comes (and proceeded to go on about how awesome and pristine the figure is inside...yada yada yada)

So I keep it in my watched items and take a look at it about an hour later and he had ended the auction (hence the 9.99 ending amount).

So I'm wondering if I called his bluff or something. Does MP-01 REALLY come with a cover that can ripple like that? I have MP Skywarp (my first MP and hooAH I love the MP line) and there is no way the cover of Skywarp's box cound ripple like that...unless you dump water on it I suppose. It's almost as if the image was printed on wrapping paper or something. When I saw this MP-01 in that condition, I wanted to know what was up.

Looks like its wrapped in shrink-wrap to me.

Hmm, in this first picture MP-01 seems to be in a shrink warp or similar - observe the top of the box, you can see where the plastic meets. The second picture has the box without any outer skin.

Think its just the shrink wrap. Looks just like mine before opening it. The seller end the auction probably because no bid on it and don't wanna lose to a $9.99 bid LOL.

Many times I get things from overseas it is in a cellophane or something like that. The auction probably ended early to someone making a good Buy-It-Now offer.

Ah, ok so it IS supposed to look like that. Sorry...I'm on the noobish side when it comes to the MP line =P

Technically, no it's not supposed to look like that. The seller just added the shrink wrap himself to keep the box in pristine condition. It keeps the box from getting scuffed, which the Masterpiece boxes are known to do.

i wonder how much he sold it for .

Most shops sell them in that wrapper. Quite common... not factory, but common to see in the TF marketplace. He also had an Anime Galvatron sitting next to it. Probably got tired of all the noob questions and just kept it or sold it non-ebay.
