Hey everyone, I'm new here my name is D and live here in the US.
I just got back into transformers about a year ago and only have about 5 or 6 right now, but over the next few months I plan on getting a lot more.
I wanted to ask, where other then ebay is a good place to find some of the older G1 toys?
Thanks for the info and I really like the site.
D

hey man, welcome to the boards.
I find the best place to find old figures is at local conventions. You can find them for less then half of ebays prices and you can see if there are any flaws, broken parts or missing pieces with your own eyes.
Best of luck man

I hope to make it over to a few swap meets and find a few things. I like the G1 stuff the best, in fact I got a Bumblebee and Soundwave last night off the bay.
Thats a good idea though (the conventions) never been to one and I bet theres a ton of stuff to find. Maybe theres one in Seattle I can go to?

Go check Wal-Mart's clearance section and the top shelf of the Transformer section for Classic and Cybertron figs, lots of them out there to be had right now. Pick up the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime. A must have if you can't get the Takara version.
Check your local Dollar stores (Family Dollar, Dollar General, ect...) for older line figs repacked in "Universe" Packaging. Get a Universe Arcee, she fits in great with the Classics line.
A definate must have is the Ultra Magnus/Skywarp Target two pack. Both great figs.

I had no clue Dollar Gen has Transformers, I'm a Hot wheels collector as well and never thought about looking for TF's there.
Thanks for the heads up.

Welcome to the forums D,
Just a general caution with the dollar stores, many of them also sell "bootlegs" which are illegal copies of transformer figures out of China. They vary in size, color, and quality from their authentic versions. Most of them are coppied from the toy and not from the molds that make them. If you see any Transformers, just make sure it says Transformers Universe and make sure it is made by Hasbro. Also most G1 figures in the dollar stores are bootlegs, while the Universe line is repaints/overstock from previous TF lines.
Good luck.

To answer your question, I have found
http://www.transformerland.com to be a great resource for G1 figures and parts.
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com also has a vintage section, but the transformerland setup is easier to use.

Dude go to your local comic shop, most nowadays have loose and mint toys for sale thanks to the toy speculation market that emerged from the star wars craze when they brought those back. I get hella good deals at comic shops all the time like armada Unicron for $25 loose complete and sweet. TX

Yeah, definitely check the Buy/Sell/Trade forum here (Carbombya)--members here are great to deal with and those that aren't are now outed in the feedback thread. Happy hunting!
