Why are there no Classics Basics?

Why are there no Classics Basics? They're repainting the Legends so why wouldn't they repaint some Basics from other lines?

If they did, and the repaint represented a classic character, who would you want to see? Only Basics now.

Me?

Energon Divebomb as Banzai-tron

Strongarm as Roadbuster

Cybertron Swindle as Ruckus

Cybertron Ransack as WW Groove

Lugnutz as a Junkion warrior/trader

Cruellock as some lost Dinobot or AM Croc

Signal Flare as AM Mainframe

Cybertron Clocker as Hot Rod

Shortround as Seaspray

Since the purpose of the line was to do Classic characters with today's engineering I think that is why they have not repainted already existing figures from earlier lines. I suspect the Classic Legends figures was to bolster the line with more product.

Personally I'd rather see them do the remaining seekers, Cosmos (We know they can because of the diagram from Botcon), Another one of the Dinobots, Wheeljack, Ironhide, Ratchet . . . . jesus I could keep going for a while.

Just continue the Classics please!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, the Basic or Scout Class is already being taken up by the new Mini-Con 3-packs, even though they have nothing to do with G1.

Not basics, but I do think a repaint and slight remold of Classics Hot Rod could make a good Wheeljack.

I'm hoping that is at least one of the Botcon repaints.

I also think there could be a good Stunticon team made out of the current classics line. Prime - Motormaster, Mirage - Dragstrip, Hot Rod - Dead End, repaints of Bumblebee to round out the rest.

What is the difference between Legends, Scouts, Basics, and Micromasters? Is one class larger than the other? More complex? Or, are they different terms for the same line? :D

For the most part, entirely unrelated terms.

Micromasters are... well, Micromasters. The miniature TFs that appeared at the tail end of G1. They had "patrols" sold in groups of four, and various vehicles and bases.

Legends refers to, in this case, the Legends of Cybertron subline. Simplistic versions of Cybertron characters sold at the smallest price point. Many of those were repainted into G1/BW/Universe characters alongside Classics. There's also going to be a Legends line for the movie characters, with various prototypes around.

Scouts and Basics are the same type of figure, Scouts being the newer term. For all the modern TF lines (BW onward), they were the smallest price point around. Every line had them except Armada, where they were replaced by... Mini-Cons, sold in groups of three. The very same thing that happened to the Scout class for Classics.

Seconded 100% and if i may... Prowl, Springer, Jazz, Shrapnel,... plus Ironhide and Ratchet seem a natural choice since hasbro loves the repaint.

Like Chosen says above, 'basic' and 'scout' are terms for the same price-point. Basic was the term used starting with Beast Wars (basic, deluxe, mega, ultra, etc.) and scout was used to replace basic when the price-point designations were revamped (scout, deluxe, voyager, ultra, leader, supreme, etc.).

Legends is a budget series of figures that consist of major characters in a smaller scale with minimal articulation points and paint applications.

Micromasters were a sub-line during the tail-end of G1 that ran alongside Actionmasters. They were similar to Mini-cons and were an attempt by Hasbro to capitalize on the 'micro-vehicle craze' at a time when Galoob, then a competitor to Hasbro, was making big profit on the popularity of their Micro Machines line.

There are so many awesome G1 figures they could remake.

Personally I'd love to see Sixshot redone.

For the scout class, I wish they would remake some of the Micromasters, like First Aid and the rescue team.

The Minicons they're dishing out now, have terrible robot modes, they could have atleast just rereleased some minicons from Armada, atleast those looked good both ways.

Maybe Mini-Con Fire-Bot is Micromaster Red Hot? There is a Micromaster Decepticon tank too... could he be Micromaster Bombshock? The Mini-Con Police car is Micromaster Stakeout? If they did Mini-Cons as homages to to actual Micromasters or Nebulans then it's cool.

That was never Hasbro's intention. Those "Classic" Mini-Con are not to be associated with the G1 Micromasters, as they were originally planned for the Mini-Con VS-Pack series of Cybertron.

What I can't stand is the business aspect of the indusrty for Hasbro. The Classics line is great and has been tremendously well recieved by collectors and the fandom. Does Hasbro knows this? You'd hope so by what has been said in many forums. But yet because of the "business" behind the live action movie they have put it on hiatus with no guarantee that it will continue. I will be deeply dissappointed if what has been and is going to be released is all we're getting.
