MP-01
MP-04
20th anniversary
20th Anniversary DVD
okay guys, i give up. what are the differences between these primes? i'm guessing MP-04 came with the trailer, right? but we're talking about the robots here...
what's available locally as of now, in our area, are 20th anniversary DVD primes. the ones with the talking base.
when the hasbro MP-01 came out here, the only thing i noticed that was different with the 20th Anniv DVD prime was the "battle scars" all around the robot, which are basically airbrushed black spots.
so yeah, what are the other differences here? and what do you think is the best version "robot-wise?"
thanks!

The DVD one and the 20th anniversary one have smaller smokestacks than MP-01 or MP-04. The DVD one has a different, lighter-colored paint job. You can see the differences here:
http://seibertron.com/toys/gallery.php? ... 0&start=50Also, the gun that comes with the DVD version is blue like his legs. The rest it's grey, I think.

MP-01 --> Japanese original version of the MP Prime.
-> Die-cast parts, long smokestacks, dark paint, chrome
MP-04 --> Japanese second edition version of the MP Prime.
-> Die-cast parts, long smokestacks, dark paint,
chrome, trailer; essentially MP-01 with trailer
20th Anniversary --> Hasbro release of MP-01
-> Die-cast parts, short smokestacks, dark
paint, chrome.
Classics DVD --> Hasbro second edition release of MP-01
-> Die-cast parts, short smokestacks, bright
toony colours, grey paint instead of chrome
-> Essentially 20th anni with a crap paint job.
-> Also has a talking base, but let's not
mention that PO
IMO, the MP-04 edition is best. It comes with all the right knick-knacks, and has the better smokestacks. But it's pricey.
If on a budget, go for the 20th anniversary edition. I own this version and love it. Plus, you can buy upgrade long stacks for him now.
Don't even look at DVD MP Prime though. And MP-01 is hardly worth it. If you're gonna pay a lot, why not just get the trailer as well?

See what happens when you don't own every single version of a toy?

Interesting, where can I get the long stacks?
PS-I'm with MB, I own the 20th anniversary and love it. I'm just not a big fan of the DVD color scheme. But if I could do it over again, I'd get the version with the trailer. I'm hunting for a separate trailer now.

I think he also has a slightly oranger shade of red than 20th and MP-01, but not as obviously so as DVD 20th. And he's missing roller. Which is retarded.Snarlus Prime wrote:Listen to The Master Blaster. He is wise.
Oh crap. Now you've done it. He'll be walking around te goodship ODB with a head swelled to the size of a small planet...

IF I can still fit on the ship that is

No luck yet, I'll keep searching. I'm sure they're around here somewhere...
EDIT:- Found em!
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Transformer-MP-1- ... dZViewItemIn fact, I know what I'm getting once I've payed for Mirage

This guy has a couple of sets listed for $4 BiN.
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Sailormoon2000hks-Anime-ShopThey're cheap to ship too. Can't remember if it was the same seller or not but mine only came to £3 shipped to the UK.

Careful there, I'll follow him around and do it again - then you'll really have a rough time on the H.M.S. ODB!

Too slow matey!

Yep, they're the same. $4 for the stacks, and $2 international shipping.
How long did it take to come?
I can't believe £3 can make the difference between masterpiece and perfect.

Inside of two weeks, maybe not much more than a week. It was a little while back, must have been around when the movie came out because I bought myself the 20th to cheer myself up after sitting through the horrendous piece of drivel. Having taken a momment more to think about it mine was in fact from that seller.

Cool. So if I order in the next week or so, I'll have it before November!
Neato!
While we're on it, does anyone know where I can get a replacement coiled spring to go with the smokestacks? The bit that stops the smokestacks from flopping around?
