I am intrigued by the TF that become bases. I don't know, I think it's really cool and hard to fathom.

Until now I thought it was just pretty much Metroplex, Scorponok and Tripticon.

What do you guys know about this Overlord?

OVERLORD is awesome, a tank and jet that form a base and robot. Given that the powermasters are the pilots and cores, the base mode is easy to understand as the larger components are not actual sentient bots :? :-?

Still, I myself am on a hunt for all the Base bots, this guy is on the top of my list with other overlooked bots like Grandus, Dai Atlad, Sonic Bomber and so on...

The only down side to this otherwise awesome figure is that the tank and jet don't have there own bot modes.

Then again, if they did, maybe that would hurt the idea of what this character is supose to be :-?

Naturally, He's one of the biggest Decepticon toys. From pictures I've seen, he's close to as tall as Scorponok, the biggest Decepticon toy ever.

Overlord was one of the last Transformers I got as a kid. Still have it, mint condition in the box.

That was an awesome Christmas.

wow, thanx for the replies, I'm blown away at how knowledgeable the people are around here :)

Overload is definitely pretty killer, I knew it the moment I saw a pic of him.
I was just glancing through one of those toy mags.

base bots are simply awesome. I like em better than the planet bots because they are closer to scale.
Planet just seems too much to me.

meteorite I can understand.

Overlord is awesome...not just a baseformer but a reverse-former also, kinda like Magmatron, makes him more playable than the others.

:MAX:

I've got the European version, pretty much just missing his main gun & missiles, the tank canopy cover and an odd ramp. Sweetness. He may be a brick, but he's a damned big and evil looking brick. If I can ever find a complete and minty Jap version I might just have to replace him though, you can never have too much chrome (unless you're talking lucky draw blingformers, that might be a smidgen too much).

I'm quite happy with my Euro version, thankyou very much, and all things considered, he's not even that much of a brick; he doesn't have elbow and knee joints, but he does have shoulders, hips and head articulation, which is one-up on Metroplex.
Also, while I haven't had him out in a while, I'm pretty sure I remember he's actually a bit taller than Scorponok...

Yeah, could be... I never owned a G1 Scorponok, so I've never had the chance to compare them. In the pictures, they do look about the same size. Overlord looks taller in the shoulders but Scorponok may have him beat with the head height, and Scorponok seems a bit fatter overall.

I've always heard that Scorponok was the largest G1 Decepticon. But that could be just on account of Overlord being a bit more obscure.
