get a TF that is made homage to a movie what would that movie be, and how would the toy look?
For example:
ALIENS - egg to alien
GODZILLA - bot to Godzilla
RAMBO - bot to M-60
CLASH OF THE TITANS - bot to Kraken
- bot to Medusa

Does a game series count? If so I would like any of the vehicles from the halo universe.

Do we earn points here?

If games count, I'd take a transforming Metal Gear. Possibly with Liquid Snake as it's Headmaster.
For films, why not a transforming USS Enterprise?

seconded.
Or a transforming Defiant from DS9?

A transforming Enterprise could be pretty darn sweet. But only if it transformed into a)Kirk and could do the patented flying kick and manage to get its shirt off at random times or b)Picard and started ordering cups of hot earl grey tea

A new cross-over idea for Hasbro to make.

I think you mean tea, Earl Grey, hot.
Would there be enough mass on a model of the original Enterprise to make a suitably tubby Kirk? And if it was a model of the Enterprise in Search For Spock, would it turn into a red-shirted security guard?

Not sure what it would turn into, but I'd buy some Transformers Starship Troopers crossovers.
Maybe go with the mutant formers idea from the Beast Wars line. *Ducks flying objects thrown at him* Since there weren't many bugs in the movies, you could go with the bugs from the computer game.

How about a Transformer that would turn into Hulk Hogan circa his genre-defining performance in Suburban Commando?

You guys are missing a really obvious one - a Zerg Hydralisk from Starcraft that transforms into a Lurker. Or a pair of Templar that combine to form an Archon.

Why not one that turns from Hulk Hogan into his boat from Thunder In Paradise?

Why not one that turns from 1983 Hulk Hogan into 2007 (or 1997, even) Hollywood Hogan?

If I had to pick I would have to say a bot transforming into a Mammoth tank from the Command & Conquer series. Also any of the Orca aircraft or the the Firehawk would be fine. Even the Nod Stealth Tank.

We could have a Nick Hogan TF that turns into a Supra and you can crash it.

A police car that turns into Robocop or a Knight Rider Trans-Am that turns into the Hoff might be nice. Or, um, weird.

We're coming back to my idea of a team of Transformers that turn into 80s action TV vehicles. KITT, Thunder, Airwolf, Blue Thunder and the A-Team van. I would like to add that they should combine. I reckon the van as the main body, the two helicopters as arms, then KITT and Thunder as legs. So far, my name for this is Eighterion, but I'm open to suggestions.

But how could one possible afford an A-Team van transformer given the sheer amount of bling bling it would have? 'Cause we all know any decent A-Team van-former would, of course, transform in B.A.
My god man, you'd need to mortage your house just to put a down payment on it!
An Airwolf transformer could be sweet though...as could a RoboCop...which would kinda make sense too!
Although, I think the ultimate Eighties Transformer would be a Lion-O who transforms into the Sword of Omens...and then extends!
