I was just wondering if there is a yearly TF's convention held in the US, and if so where and when?

And how much does it cost to purchase the Botcon Exclusive figures if you're standing there at Botcon?
Just... Anyone that went to Botcon '07, how much did you drop for the Games of Deception boxset?
If I go, how much $$$ should I bring?

usually costs a left nut and then the right nut inside the sellers room lol ..I think they usually give away one toy free and then you got to use that left nut to buy the rest lol. Right before the conventions it seems alot of people sell off huge chunks of there collections just to fund there trip to the convention.. If one pops up close to me one year i may go and pick up a few things but i doubt it will be there exclusives cause there normall just over priced repaints lol.. Except this last one had some remolded seeker jets that were cool ..

I havent been personally but, I think $1000 should be sufficient enough to cover what you want..

This year the Primus package was $279, that includes admission to everything and the exlusive toys. Their are also convention only exclusives that can run you up pretty quickly as well. They were somewhere around $150 for both sets. I can't remember exactly. And then you'd want plenty for the dealer room as well.
But actually I found the best part of Botcon to be hanging out with all of the cool people that you talk to on here. It's a great experience.

So wait... Maybe its because I've been awake for 19 hours and fighting off Benadryl just to write this but I'm a tad thickheaded right now. Okay, so the Primus package included admission and the
exclusive toys but then there were
other exclusive convention toys that aren't included in that Primus package that were $150?

I'm totally lost...

It's $279 for admission and the boxset that usually includes 5 figures. Then there are usually a free figure, two more sets (usually a pair of figures each), one costing around $100 and the other around $80, plus some other trinkets sometimes costing less, along with the other souvenirs.
So figure between $450 to $500 for everything.

The prices are not insane. If you want to go to the convention it is $10. The $279 not only gets you figures (that you could have sold this year for $800), but a few days at an awesome events, plenty of classes, and even a catered party.

Yeah, it really is well worth it. It was the best vacation my wife and I ever had. The whole experience really justifies the costs.
If you do go, contact the other people on this board that are going so that you can meet up with them. I guarantee you'll have a blast.

It's funny because Hasbro has nothing to do with it.

$500, where do I pay?
Dang, 2007 botcon was just before I started collecting. Providence isn't too bad of a drive either. bout 5 hours or so. I SO would've been there.
That games of deception set ... is totally my grail right now.

Ditto. Although I'd probably sell off everything but Thrust & Thundercracker. I would keep Dirge, but browsing the kitbash forum, I realized that Botcon '07 Dirge was just a straight up repaint of Ramjet. The original G1 Dirge had remolded wings. Only the three screamers are repaints, but all three coneheads are different.
I so want to go, but... One, money. Two, a week off from work. Three, two makes one an even bigger issue. Four, driving.

Also, you need to budget accordingly for Hotel/Motel accommodations.
Botcon in June/July had arrangements with 4 Hotels where the average nightly stay was between $130 and $150 a night.
If you find three roomates, and stay 4 nights (which is about the normal amount), it works out where each person pays for one night.

Sheesh... I'd just as soon find some run-down crapshack that costs $30 a night and deal with the roaches...
