What would you consider a fair price for a headmaster spike for G1 Fort Max?I'm kinda stuck what I should hold out for.

He averages $50-$75.

More than I'd pay based on principal(headmaster heads are a fortune), but thats what I normaly see him going for.

I seen one for $120 seemed a little steep even for Spike but I wasn't sure.

Yup infact the head of the smaller bot cerebros( that then forms the head of fort max)

Spike isnt nessicairy to complete the fort max robot mode but head masters allways fetch high prices because of what people will pay to complete a figure

Damb, when are they gonna reissue Fort Max and the other city bots? I'd love to own them, but it seems like they'ld cost me a couple G's.

Doubtful there will be another Fortress Maximus reissue since they just did one a few years ago for RID(Brave Maximus). People have said Brave Maximus was the ultimate shelf-warmer overseas, so I doubt they will do him again anytime soon.

You can a decent Brave Maximus for around $200-$250 BTW. I paid $200 MIB for mine.

I got Spike off Ebay about two years ago for 45.00USD. If you can try to find them when they are low and snipe 'em. Only way to win with Ebay IMO.

I also got Cerebros off of Ebay for a decent 30.00USD. There was someone selling the body of Fort Max at the first Botcon I went to a few years ago. If I recall he was asking 350.00USD for the body, with the box.

My advice would be to shop around, of course, for the best deal. You might happen upon someone selling what you need and have no clue what it's worth.

Hehe...yeah, I'm evil.

I'd go find any human figure that fits the scale and paint his shirt like Spike's.

There was a guy that made a CUSTOM anime-accurate headmaster Spike that actually looked just like Cerebros head when transformed.
I don't know how many he had but he sold them for some BIG cash.
I have pics if anyone wants to see it.

I'm having a hell of a time finding headmaster Gort myself. I know he'll be at least $30 when I do find him. Thats just the way it is.

My first wave headmaster collection is at about 85%, I only need 2 more.

Personally would not pay over 150 shipped for Spike, and that would be a last resort. If I needed one and saw one for under 100, I'd probably snap it up.

I believe it was Hal from Rabid Squirrel productions that made this piece but I could be mistaken. He sold it on Ebay about a year? ago I think. I can't remember what it sold for but it was a LOT of money.

Anyway, I saved these pics from Hals auction so the credit for the pics are all his.

thats a pretty good likeness to his apperance in the rebirth cartoons.

And Auto-bot, thats exactly why another figre in the same scale painted to look like spike would fail - hes a functional headmaster and an integral(and easily) part of fort max as a set

is that an adjustable stats bar?! awesome! 8)

Depends what you mean by 'adjustable'. It varies depending on what Headmaster partner you put in the top of the body. One can slide the bars up or down with one's finger but they just slide back to where they were, they don't stay. Each Headmaster partner has a tab with different ridges cut out. This tab is what plugs into the socket on top of the body and it's these ridges that effect what stats are displayed on the torso.

So, whichever Headmaster toy one plugs into Spike into, one always gets the same stats. If one puts Vorath into Cerebros or any other Headmaster, it will always show Vorath's stats.
