I just picked this one up today and I am in love with it!! It has awesome articulation, a pretty good paint scheme , a good transformation , tight joints , pretty cool all around in my book. The only drawbacks to this fig for me are the lightpiping on the eyes doesnt work to well, just a lil too dark and... I think thats pretty much it I love this one! What do you guys think??

I have lime green Ratchet, and I love the figure! I was going to pass up on Rescue Ratchet because he looks like a fat nurse, but now, I think I may pick him up. That is, if I can find one. I'm still looking for Thundercracker.

Glad to hear some love for the medic. I've been waiting for Rescue Ratchet to hit the shelves, I am yet to see it.
Ratchet always does get a good number of votes in "best Voyager" type topics.

I like that he's a solid transformer toy. Not too delicate that I have to take great care with while transforming like some of the other figures. He feels safe to actually play with, as opposed to just stand on a shelf or MISB. His automorph feature, while nothing to write home about, is still cool in and of itself. I wish they could have used this bulging effect on Unicron's abs, such as we saw in the 86 movie while he was transforming.

I like my green Ratchet.
But if you have enough dough, pick up both.
You'll get a mechanic, plus a nurse.

My green-R had that problem bad. I lightly and carefully, and I mean carefully, because s-glue tends to turn plastic white, not to mention permanantly adhere moving parts, put a touch of super glue on the pegs and, voila! No more problem.

I can imagine 2 Ratchet toys, wearing wedding costumes. Walking down the table top aisle.
Rescue Ratchet nurse in a white gown. Green Ratchet mechanic in coat and tie.
Hell, yeah!

Yes, and thanks to the post beneath yours I now have a solution to my problem. But IMO Ratchet is awesome. I have both and after finding Rescue Ratchet I decided to repaint my green Ratchet into a G1 Ironhide repaint. Buy a Ratchet and help keep Hasbro in business!

2 thumbs up.

Lovely Ratchet family. I hope Uncle Walrus can attend the wedding.

I do like Rescue Ratchet quite a bit. It is my favorite Movie Voyager so far, but can't say its the best yet since I don't plan to buy the others. But compare to Ironhide, I like this better. Ironhide looks cooler, but Ratchet wins on stability, while posebility both on par. Just never like figures that can't stand very well other than static pose (yeah, I am talking to you Ironhide!).
Rescue Ratchet does start to show up in random Walmarts now. Good for people that haven't got him yet.

IMO:
Best movie toy for its class, and most G1 like design/transformation.

^C'mon man, he's Franken-Ratchet for goodness sake!

And a nurse. He's multi-talented.

I just found Rescue Ratchet myself. Man, I was so happy! I can't open him up yet though. I got him as a Christmas present for myself. Yeah, I really DO buy all the presents for everyone as my husband is no good at it. At least I know I will get what I really want!
He looks really good though!

^It won't be a long wait, only about 2 months then you can open him up. Pretty cool. I still haven't seen one just like Thundercracker. *sigh*, looks like I'll have to ebay him too...

Don't cave in to ebay! Hang tight, Wal-Marts near you should soon be crawling with them. Dallas was a total wasteland for a couple of months, but now we are positively drowning in deluxes, Rescue Ratchets, and Thundercrackers.

Thanks for the encouragement! Sometimes I can hear him calling me from my closet where all the Christmas presents live. That's when I realize that I've been on the Seibertron boards too long and need to take a nice long walk outside!
Do wait though. I tried to buy Thundercracker early on eBay (I love the Seekers and are rather inpatient when it comes to them) and I am having troubles with the seller. Now he's at Walmart and I STILL don't have my figure I ordered on the first. The first of September. I would wait a little longer at least!

Just realize that's one that someone blackwashed. The stock version looks a lot more plain Jane out of the box. It's still pretty good, just not THAT good.
Duh, just realized you might have meant that you're tempted to blackwash it. Never mind...

Actually, that was me who did that blackwash some time ago.

And yeah, none of the toys look like this. But the simple wash & silver accent can really bring out their details. Something we all can do in a couple hours.
