My barriades getting a bit worn out. His doors are all scrached up and alot of his other paint apps are disapearing. So I'm thinking of getting a new one. But here's the problem, i got a hasbrotoyshop mag in the mail and they have recon barricade and he dosen't look too bad whats everyone's thoughts on him? I've seen both lately so finding him's not the issue. So which one should i go with?

Wow...what do you do with the thing? It's a relatively new figure and it's all messed up like that?

Anyway...I have both, and I ended up returning the recon Barricade because the original is more asthetically pleasing. Maybe it's because I have a preference for black vehicles, but the recon one was way too bright and bland looking to be considered an evil decepticon.

actually I've heard of that happinging quite a bit. The doors scratch quite easily whick sux. Still not sure though any other thoughts?

You plan on opening the new one either way? I'd go for the normal Barricade again, if only so you have one that is scratchfree.

Regular for sure. Don't like the recon colors much, while the regular version has one of the best paint & decal look (though the paint quality sucks on matrial & finish, but that goes to all Deluxe figures, not just Barricade).

Yeah, sdame problems here, the paint lettering on his doors chips like that.
If you can get Recon, it's better paint application, but not such a cool painjob. But that's why we kitbash.

That's weird...I've had mine for 2 months now and it still looks mint. Maybe it's because most of my transformers (Barricade included) are strictly for display. I rarely ever play with them.

regular Barricade, nice color combination, sorta like a mini-Alternator. too bad about the QC issues though. i never found out about that coz i sold mine unopened on out local eBay a few days ago.

1. It looks better
2. It is more iconic and representative of the movie
3. Recon barricade looks a little better in person when you transform him into robot mode than he does in the pictures, but not by much
4. You want to pose him with BB!

it would be a shame to let the "to punish and enslave..." scratch off, it's such a special part of it

If I had the extra money, I'd pick up 2 mall security Barricades. 1 to keep as is and the other to possibly paint.

The Recon Barricade is a lazy repaint, buy another original if you are going to buy another one.

Get the black and white one. Its much more better looking.

The regular one. The only reason why I am looking for a recon one is for a repaint that I want to do to him. But I may settle for a regular squad car instead. Recon Barricade is one of Habro's less brilliant ideas to say the least.

I have both and I like the regular one better. Recon Barricade is still pretty cool though, and will be harder to find in the long run.

For the record, I only call him Mall Security Barricade now. It's just too perfect of a name!

Yep, regular barricade is "IT". If you do get recon ... it's a must to take a black magic marker to his gray plastic rear windows. He looks about 50x's better, but still not as awesome as the regular paint scheme.
