Sick of movie toys?

I think with so many repaints and non-movie related figures the market has somewhat been saturated. While visiting wal-mart yesterday and seeing fully stocked shelves of deluxes and voyager class figures, I realized that I was sick of them. Although I did seriously consider picking up voyager prime and thundercracker, I went home and bought encore megatron and soundwave: a seriously better use of money. I do however understand that many people did not get a chance to pick up movie figures, especially kids! I am happy to see them in terms of them being available for all to enjoy, but personally I feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Please feel free to chime in!

I agree...it seems like forever since I've seen anything other than a movie figure (aside from one or two Cybertron figures). I'm more or less ready for the animated line. The designs look great to me and I can't wait to get my hands on animated chinscream/starscream

If only I got back into TF's before the movie came out. The shelves would be stocked with Cybertron and Classics.

hahahahah chinscream. I REALLY like the Animated series molds. Its so stylized and different from what we've seen before that its very refreshing! I personally have a thing for Bulkhead, but I like Fat characters: feels like you get more bang for your buck

spiderman is always in stock! I think they came and went with the movie, in terms of popularity!

Can't be sick of the movie toys yet cuz we still don't have any here. My Walmart is still only got wreckage and swindle, nothing else. I've got most of what I want, but it's hard to be sick of them when I constantly walk by empty shelves all day.
But yeah, Spiderman and POTC are working their way to our clearance isles.

I'm glad, because in Maryland, especially by me, all the stores are usually in a drought, even TRU. Not to mention crappy employees and disorganized shelves.

I think I'm sick of the movie toys because whenever I walk down the isle in Walmart, I see those toys as opposed to the beautiful Masterpiece Starscream.

to be honest, i'm also starting to get sick of the movie line, but not because figures are flooding in our area; but of the fact that the VHTF figures like IronHide and Autobot Jazz (yes, those are rare here) are being hoarded and sold at our local eBays and forums for 2x their value.
frustrating since those are the figures that i really need, and hoarders are selling them for usd $50-60 converted (IH). once i can get a hold of these 2, maybe i'll be turning my back on the movie figs. *sigh*

With wonderful scalpers in the works, I doubted you'll see that very much. Just be glad if you happen to find one MP Starscream for yourself.

I am a little sick of them yes, but it allows me to focus on GI joe, and Star Wars a bit.

it's a bit frustating in collecting tf's.not just the movie line, but others too. i saw one big shelf full of TF movie characters (voyagers, deluxes, scouts, FABs, etc)one day, and several days later, THEY'RE ALL GONE, except some FAB's and cyberslammers. man, collecting TF's is hard.

I'm not sick of them, ... but I'm not exactly thrilled with the repaints they've got coming out. I look forward to the animated line, which is going to rock.
The one thing that is starting to bug me, is lately, every time they get new stuff in, it's always multiple packs of figures that've already been released over here. Still no sign of Payload, Dropkick, Long Arm, Leader Brawl. Dreadwing made a very brief appearance, but I made the mistake of buying Swindle and Bonecrusher instead, 2 figures which have since proved to be anything but scarce.

I like a lot of the Deluxe series, and Voyager, but half the stuff I see at Target (exclusives) I don't really like.
I do like the Starscream repaint they have but other then that....not much else.
I would rather be spening money on G1's.
I would like to see more things like rub stickers and G1 style tech specs on the next series of Tf's.

I really like the movie line, but what I don't like is the lack of new molds. The repaints are great for the most part (G1 Jazz, G1 SS, G1 TC), but we really haven't seen many good new molds. Only a few. Which is a shame.
I really think Clasics 2.0/Unverse line should have come out a lot sooner.

I'd like to see Tech specs return, but I don't think that's really possible anymore. Looking at some of my European Movie deluxes, I can't help but notice that on the back, half the card is taken up with a shortened character bio translated into twelve(!) different languages.
This really sucks, when you see the wonderful U.S. Bonecrusher bio discarded and replaced with the one miserable line: "Consumed with hate, Bonecrusher destroys everything that gets in his way!"
What I'd like to see is rather than 'clip and save' tech specs, they could do some nice collectible cards with all the same info.

It wouldnt be so bad if most of the designs werent crap and they actually looked more like their movie versions. That and the fact that most of the stuff thats on the shelfs is just cheaply made simple toys...FAB's ...pass. RObot replicas look like ass, as do all the repaints.
The only good thats come from the movie line is the real gear line and some of the video game movie characters/toys.
I'll just be glad when the animated and classics lines hit the shelfs.

Bear in mind that some of us still have to complete the movie line(or as much of it as we are interested in buying). I'm eagerly anticipating more classics, but I prefer things to come out at a rate I(and the supply chain) can keep up with.
