Which Cybertron Scrapmetal is better? Red or yellow? And why does the same figure come in 2 different colors, having the same name? And is the little guy any good?

It's a nice character, especially for a scout. In robot mode you can give him spikes, rumbles, or hands. He comes in two (+blue for japan, +redeco for cartoon) because they couldn't come up with an alternate name for him for a repaint and the red one is suppose to be a slightly smarter version while the yellow is suppose to be droneish. I like the yellow one, wish I had a blue one, and give props to the red one for being a cassette terrorcon (with divebomb/laserbeak and ravage from energon as the others).

And a rare Botcon Customizing Class one as well. It's red, but if kept dead mint, is still on sprues, and also includes the head that is more humanoid looking and less bug like.

In the Cybertron toon, the planet Cybertron is over-run with Scrapmetals (called Ramble in Japan). They were colored yellow, red, and blue. They were pretty much described as "vermin" but somehow enlarged to a bigger size. In Japan, they released the toy in all three colors but for some reason, Hasbro just brought out the two in red and yellow and made up a story of Scrapemtal being sentient. Obviously the blue one is highly sought after in the US and can be quite expensive for a figure its size. Also in the toon, one of the human characters, Coby, builds a personalized "Ramble" eventually named "Coby Ramble". This figure was released in Japan in a special box set with Optimus Prime and Wingsaber. The figure has a retooled, more human looking head and this mold was reused as the Botcon 2006 customizing class figure.

One of my favorite scouts, I wish I had the blue and red versions. I leave him with the "piledriver" extensions and prop him next to Soundwave.

Get the red one, and pose him next to Soundwave as an homage to Rumble/Frenzy! That's what I do. He is an homage of sorts with his pile driver hands.

I like the idea of a vermin bot so I bought multiples of the red and yellow versions ($5 a shot MISB at the recent Action figure expo in Ontario) I think I have about 24 of them.
In numbers they look really cool, like an infestation. Great effect for the display.

I am still looking for the blue one, it typically sells for such a ridiculous amount on ebay, I bow out of the auction.

^Hehe, triple post there. Cool.
I bought the red one. The yellow one seems nice too, but the red looks more menacing. Neat looking figure. Thanks for the help.

I have the Red Version, and I love him. With this here it all comes down to what color you prefer. Personally, I liked the Blue, but USA never got him. Out of the 2 released, I like Red, simply because I'm a huge fan of that color, however they could've done Black too. *Here's to hoping for the blue repaint, and a black repaint in Universe/Classics 2.0.

Yea I always wanted a Coby Rumble...but wasn;t willing to pay that much for the giftset.
The figure was pretty cool, especially with the hand ground pounder G1 homage. I enjoyed all of the scouts from the GF/Cybertron line, but Rumble was my fav.
