Wondering about the G1 e-hobby reissues, what is the relation to takara?

Are these molds takara approved reissues?

e-Hobby figures are Takara approved and come from Takara.

How do you know it is an official e-hobby?

They always come in G1 styled boxes (unlike the bookbox one from the regular Transformers Collection reissues), and the same designs are used for mulitple releases, i.e. Autobot reissues all come in the same red box, and the Decepticon ones all come in the same purple box.
They're so-called companion pieces, the mold is repainted in colors that bear some significance in TF history, usually it's the colors the toy had in the original line (Diaclone and Microman).

Skylynx will certainly be an ehobby version. Quite possibly.

Nope, regular New Year's release. E-Hobby only releases repaints (Galvatron excluded)

btw you can add signatures on your profile page ;)

E-hobby also has the original g1 box packaging with the actual cartoon color schemes as well. Look at the Predaking set and he was a NewYears edition back in 2004. Predaking was an e-hobby release.

I have had my eye on that as well, since I have Soundwave, Blaster and Soundblaster.

I see it usually for $80-$90 on ebay

does that sound fair?

Thats about the going rate.
I got mine a little cheaper($55.99) because the box had a small dent in one corner(like I care about that lol).
The way I looked at it was the Takara reissue Blaster wasn't really much less than that and Twincast holds 2 cassettes and EVERYONE has Blaster.
I love mine, everyone notices him right away because of the color scheme on my collection shelf. lol

Nope, regular release like all New Year's releases. E-Hobby offers them like any other retailer, they're not all exclusives ;)

Yes I see but Predaking was an ehobby exclusive and so will Skylynx be one as well. 8)

'Fraid not. Predaking was a general Takara release. What Jelze is saying is that while e-hobby may well have had some stock of him for sale and had them on the website it was a general release in Japan. The only toys that are considered 'e-hobby toys' are the recolours that are e-hobby exclusives (although Western online retailers will ussually stock these exclusives at a mark up as well).
