Well I finally scored my first ever G1 megatron. Its the japanese book style #6 version. And the best part --- Cha ching only $50.00 USD. I am probably never gonna open him, unless I get another. He is one badass looking MOFO. But I have a question (bear with me Inever had a megatron before). What are the 20 somethin bullets for? Does Megs actually fire plastic bullets?

Yes, the TFC version fires them. They load in the top of his "chest".

Part of his removable stock also fires them.

$50 is a good price for him. I was at a comic convention yesterday (Wondercon) and saw 1 dealer who wanted $100 each for the two he had on display. I passed of course since I already have one but I opened it because I had never held a G1 Megs before. I kinda wish I hadn't opened him up...

I got the TFC version a few weeks back. I left all of the exterior stickers off and just applied those that are hidden in gun mode. I see no point in buying and not opening, thats not collecting, thats investing.

not mine, but i do have the same exact bootleg. if u can score it cheap it ain't too shabby. no metal content, but comes with sticker sheet and stapled instuction set, lol. i've been meaning to do a review on this one.. "changeofgun" from gold crown. notice the text on the bottom of the box:
"make use of children five and over"

Yeah. Got it at a local hobby shop. The front prat of the box( the lid to the book, with the picture of megatron is a little warped.) Looks like it was done by alot of moisture, but no water marks. There are also no creases, thats why I think it was moisture damage. n I thought that Megs was alot more money, then I ebayed him, and he is only max 90.00 usd plus shipping.

Megs is simply amazing. I sold my S-16 version and bought the TFC-06 one recently as it's a lot easier to store.

And I propmtly applied all the stickers and gave him a good transforming!
For some reason never felt the need to take any bullets off the sprew and try em out though.

I dont care what anybody says about him, G1 Megatron is a fricking cool toy.

WOW, I never though I would see one of those again. I have on and the 1st week I had it the trigger broke off. :sad:

Any ways, I luv my TFC Megs, and I luv shooting my bro w/ the plastic bullets. :grin:

yeah, it's unfortunate that the quality of booltegs are inconsistent.. if u get one when the mold is sharp, sweet deal.. and then u get the latter casts with flash and airbubbles.. no good. i was fortunate to get a good one, he's solid and stable.

The trigger broke on mine too. But i got 2 so i didnt care much. And since i got the Really good bootleged ones,the one with all of megs parts, that one sits in gun mode now on a shelf.

...Since I can't find the black reissue. Yooo, Does any one know why most the re-reissue Megs boxes r in crappy condition?

I've heard people say that before, but why is TFC so much easier to store? I thought they were the same size. Is it the packaging?

Yeah it refers to the packaging. If you have any of the TFC reissues, Megs is about 2x as thick but has the same width and height. Previous reissues are in a wider package.

Theres another bootleg megs out there that comes with all of his accessories, even the bullets, and he fires them too. i got one and it was awsome quality for a bootleg.

i used parts of it to fix up my g1 megs and make him minty just before he got destroyed. but now i gots me the TFC #6 reissue (sexy chrome~) and skinny odd bot or not, hes pure coolness.

anyway, not wanting to take the bullets of the sprue either, i just took the ones from the bootleg and fired them :grin:
