Most valuable Botcon figures

Got to thinking last night, which Botcon exclusives are the most highly sought after? Obviously right now it's still probably the 07 Seekers, and sets go on eBay for close to $700. But the 06 MEgatron figures is much harder to find, and often sells for $400 alone. Antagony from back then always goes for over $300. What would be the most sought after Botcon figure?

I've seen 2005 Botcon Ratchet go for $600 alone as of late.
I want him, but not that bad.

And why should anyone pay that? When there is a Classics v2 Ironhide/Ratchet almost ensured next year?
I don't,..I don't know. I'm not a scientist. Sheesh.

Well to each his own, I say. If someone wants that badly to pay that much for Botcon Ratchet, I say let them. Nothing that we can do about it anyway. It WON'T be me that pays that much though. I think that is a very poor investment in the long-run. So unless the person bought it purely for the joy of owning it(and this is entirely possible), when and if a classics version of Ratchet comes out they will likely see a big loss on their investment.
God knows, I have dropped
5 times that amount on a single comic book in the past(of course the comic was about 60 years older and a HELL of a lot rarer than Botcon ratchet).

Botcon Ratchet is the champ on ebay at least. It always seems to garner at least $400. I would say it is seconded by the Pre Beast Wars Megatron/Waspinator combo.
Fractyl and Packrat go for $300 often as well, though I dont know why, I have them and they are just repaints.
Tigatron and Arcee do pretty well too, always around the $100 each mark.

I paid $300 for 2005 Botcon Ratchet.
I paid $350 for 2006 Megatron and Waspinator.
Call me crazy, but I bought them for my own personal collecting enjoyment.
What's this about a classics Ironhide and Ratchet? Any confirmation on this, or is it just an assumption?

Not crazy, I think the pre BW Megs and Waspinator are worth it. Havent seen an auction for them in a while though.

I would say an assumption. They're just begging to be made though. Since they were present in the movie, that means that there must still be a demand for the characters too.
As for the issue at hand, while some exclusives do look pretty cool, I wouldn't pay that much. And it also really stinks too, cause guys like the Seekers are fan favorites, and everyone should have a reasonable chance at them.
Now if they made an exclusive Guiltor figure, that'd be another story.....

No one knows for sure if they are going to make a classics Ratchet or IH, that's the only thing that IS for sure.

Pre-BW Meg ($250+), pre-BW Optimus ($100+), the Classic seekers (???), Ratchet (I've seen some selling for less than $100 not that many months ago) and Ironhide (???) are the most sought after figures I think. Aren't Arcee and Sentinel Maximus also popular?

I asked at BotCon. They replied that the idea was to do two characters out of one design whenever possible. Asked if this meant Ironhide/Ratchet they said, "Good possibility".

I'd say for price and rarity Botcon 1994 G2 Breakdown.

Christ, that is a lot of money for a figure. I fear the day when I need one of those to complete my collection.

I always thought that Botcon Tigatron repaint of Ravage X-9 was one of the more expensive ones.

so, this year's BotCon figs are not in the running for this list?
i've heard reports of seekers go in the 200-300 mark esp. Thrust and TC in eVilBay.

Based on my observations, the average prioes for some of the most expensive figs are:
2005 Botcon Ratchet $350
2005 Botcon Ironhide $150
2006 Botcon Megatron $400
2007 Botcon Thundercracker $250
2007 Botcon Thrust $200
2007 Botcon Dirge $200

I have to admit that I haven't paid attention to any of the exclusives that weren't G1 homages. Out of those Ratchet is definately the most rare. I am on ebay daily and would go weeks at a time without seeing one. When I did see them, they were generally very active auctions ending between 300 and 400 bills. I finally broke down one night and paid $400 for him. Nuts, I know, but to me, it was worth it. It's so true to the G1 version as well as the cartoon that I grew up loving.
I got Botcon IH for $100 back in May and was fortunate enough to snag Botcon Springer / Huffer for $70 together two days after Botcon was over.
These were all ebay purchases. Have I spent a ton on these? Yes, but I dig the exclusivity of the figures and know that if I ever get into financial straits, I can sell these for more than I paid fairly easily. I just hope and pray that such a day never comes.

I paid $400 for my Ratchet, $150 for Ironhide, $80 for Huffer/Springer ste, $100 for Optimus Primal, $70 for Sunstreaker/Side Swipe/Sister set ... and I love them all! I really collect anything that is an homage to a G1 character. I mean, I look at it by saying that in order to get these figures, I'd have to pay for conference fees, hotel, flights, etc ... I'm probably better off (and cheaper) going on eBay.
Granted I would love to go to BotCon, but I haven't seen a full set that I would pay a the fees for ... including this one, they set was cool, but I really only collect Autobots, and last years set I had the figures in the Cybertron line minus the figure Primal turned into.
Figures, especially exclusives and "rare" items are going to go for ridiculous prices - so act now before it is too late!

I remember getting Sentinel Maximus from some shady online store, Toywiz I think. And he was missing his battery cover. And they wouldn't let me exchange it.
That was off topic.
On topic, man, I lost a Megs/Waspy set about 9 months ago by forgetting about an auction... it was only going for about $200 then...

Those are two VERY painful stories, I cant decide which is worse.
Either way I feel your pain, I have lost out on rare bots at cheap prices once or twice. Its a poopy feeling.

I think the most sought after are
Nightracer... a G2 gobot mold for 250 to 300 US$
G2 Breakdown... haven't seen that one in a very long time
Actionmaster Breakdown... saw that one getting sold for a whole lot of money...
Besides those I am still looking for Fractyl and Packrat and Vicegrip but I just don't think they are worth their money. $ 150 for a figure is way too much money...
Happy to say that the rest are all present and accounted for in my collection...
