I know this was already a supposed topic in another thread, but I just had to tell you guys in a new thread untainted by the previous sckeptisisim...

I just bought the Ratchet and Megatron with super Metal Finish from Best Buy today, not 2 hours ago, they are going like hotcakes!!! They had a special Best Buy rep who was promoting Transformers the movie and telling people about the 5.00 discount per figure if they also purchase the DVD, i ofcourse am Bound by a promise not to buy anything so as to free up things for me to have bought for me by X-mas, by my fiance....errr.... future fiance... commitment phobia aside...


So DVD out, but toys, I buy for myself, so no worries there...

The rather attractive Best buy rep said that she expected the other exclusives with the highly detailed and super metallic finish to arrive later this year!! Optimus Prime she said and some other bot were not being released just yet!!! I'm sorry I didn't catch the other bot's name....

I am thinking it was 08 Bumblebee, or some other bot... Autobot.. I was stunned to hear it from a Best Buy Rep's own mouth...

Anyways the next name of the Best buy exclusive super Metal finish line is Optimus Prime, as a RUMOR ofcourse since it was a Best buy employee, but it also confirms what i saw from a Previous post done by seibertron's own... Fender Bender.. Also the name she called them by was the "Premium Series"

By the way, Best buy Exclusive Ratchet and Megatron, OOOOOooooooooooooooHhhhhhh SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!

My Megatron is fantastic, and apparently, i ended up picking up one that had some silver on his face accentint the facial features instead of a blob of black paint with red eyes.. Images will be taken soon and posted, unknown if this is a variation...or simply luck!!!

Hmmmm I wonder what the Best Buy Metallic Optimus is, Leader Class or Voyager?? If it's voyager, I hope he's thge darker colors, instead of the Bright Target one...we shall see.... the Best Buy rep said in a month or 2...

Hm. I might have to hold off buying Voyager Prime until they release the metallic version, if this turns out to be true.

Wasn't this started by some random Best Buy employee who said he saw them on the bottom of a Ratchet box or something, which no one else has happend to see yet?

Or perhaps there was another source I havn't heard about yet..

I doubt Best Buy will get another Transformer toy exclusive (at least until the 2009 movie comes out). They are not a toy store and in a few weeks the movie sales will start to drop. There really is no reason for them to get another exclusive.

The Target Robovision Prime was a metallic version of the Voyager figure and was released before the movie came out. IF Best Buy is going to get Prime it will most likely be the Leader class version.

with the figure shortage fiasco best buy pulled on the west coast, i hope this rumor is FALSE! best buy does not deserve another shot at these exclusives!

Well on the bottom of the Megatron box it shows Rescue Ratchet and Thundercracker and on the bottm of the Ratchet box it showes Optimus Prime(dont look like the one from the movie either) and Thundercracker. So if they are going to do more then it would be these 3. But It dont say that there're going to be Metallic. It just say "Also Available".

Glad you could get these.

Too bad local exclusives are impossible to find. I prefer mine to be foreign and expensive. It's too frustrating paying Ebay prices for something released here in the US.

Sorry, bitter me came out for a bit.

Happy for those who got them though. Thankfully they are just movie toys.
