Confirmed Takara Classics to better reflect G1.

TRANSFORMERS JAPANESE CLASSICS: Takara will be releasing the Classics line domestically in Japan, if you've missed out on any of them this is a
great chance to fill in your collection. We've also just learned that
they plan to update the paint versions of the figures to better reflect how they looked in G1 animations. We are digging for details (especially on Megatron - who would look awesome in gray & black), but there is not anything concrete available yet. We'll update the site as we learn more.
Up for preorder now are Megatron, Prime, Starscream, and Bumblebee. More classics will be listed soon as we receive info.
I had Megatron and Starscream pre-orders placed when the Takara versions were announced. I just added Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. I might cancel them later but just in case

What I want to see is the more anime accurate Classics Megatron they plan to do. Now that's gonna be something!

Anime accurate? Eh. Pass. I've already got the figures, no point in buying repaints.
Since Takara is now carrying them, that gives me reason to think my guess was correct.
Takara and Hasbro work on the figures in a partnership. They design them together.
Now, Classics are coming back and the molds are definite sellers for both sides of the pond. (I mean we've seen Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, etc reissued time and again... and now we're getting them.)
Hopefully Takara will push for more figures like Shockwave, Soundwave, etc.
Now, if only G1 had been made like Classics...I'd still be a fan to this day.

Well, I just bit the bullet and pre-ordered Megs and Starscream. I have the US versions of both, but I'm hoping for better paint apps on Screamer and a grey/black/red deco on Megs.
I hope I don't regret this....

You can always cancel. They dn't charge until they ship, and I'm sure news would be out before then.

didn't I say they may do this, and those whoi were sighting the images on BBTS as the real deal were certain they were just like the US versions... HAAHAAHHAHHA I may have been right after all, we shall see...

No ... because Classics Megatron is not based on a real weapon.
And it's not BBTS "stance", it's them having to comply with gun laws.

Takara do it again with the superior paint apps. I may well pick a few of these up. First time round I only bothered with Bumblebee, Jetfire and Rodimus as the rest just didn't appeal.

I gotta wonder how BB is gonna be more G-1 accurate. No white and tinted black windows?
Id Starscream gonna have 'con symbols all over the place? I kinda hope not ... I have to admit, I like the subtlety of having no symbols save for the rubsigns. Actually made them ... relevant ... for the first time since the mini spies.

It should be very interesting to see if they release the botcon seekers in the Japanese market as a store exclusive. That would be a kick in the teeth to a lot of people but fans in general would rejoice.

I can't see much point in repainting Bumblebee or Rodimus but a new Megatron would be welcome (and frustrating).

pre-ordered Prime and Megs, they are the only ones I would bet on being tweaked to perfection.
Megs because of the Grey and Black
Prime because I just cant help myself.
Either way, we should all know before march whether or not to cancel the preorders.

I would probably change my Megatron and maybe Starscream. Prime and Bumblebee are fine as is.
