Is he worth it? I never had one, and I always kind of liked him. Is he essentially the same as the original one? Built the same way, etc?

Yes. Except that his mouth is kinda different due to a mold wear.

Heard something about his feet being different, or perhaps that was that G2 one that had different feet..

His mouth isn't deformed or anything like that is it?

No, the lips were somehow reshaped and now he's got an odd snear/smirking expression.

A sorta expression you would normally see on Starscream rather than Jazz.

Wow so this what happens when they repair a broken mold an autobot can end up looking like a decepticon.

How much would an Encore Jazz normally retail for?

i thought they would use the original head mold for Jazz, not the "smirking" version?

Oh, how about other Encores of similar class to Jazz? How much would that retail for?

rats! i was looking forward to a G1-accurate reissue of Jazz...aw man, i hope Takara would do a resculpt of the face. i'd really want Jazz without the stupid smirk that's more deserving of Starscream.

It is tough to find a reissue of G1-Jazz.

Encore Jazz is supposed to be out roughly the same time as Encore Sky Lynx. I have a couple of different Jazz figures including an original and a few reissues.
Sky Lynx is the one I am really looking forward to getting. It will be nice to have an extra one. I hope that it won't yellow like the old one sometimes did. Mine is still white but I've seen plenty of yellow ones out there on ebay.

TFSource had him listed at about $90 along with Encore Jazz at $35, that's what reminded me of Sky Linx in the first place. I haven't checked any other place for prices yet.

ouch! i ain't shelling that much for a figure that's not even a true Transformer in the first place. i guess my local retailer's preorder price for Jazz is about fair (about 33 USD-converted), seeing that BBTS there charges you guys 35 bucks a box.

My guess is because he is a post movie season 3 character. There are a lot of people that hate those characters.

well, for one, Sky Lynx does not transform into a robot. ever. another is that he was not an original Takara/Hasbro mold, i think he was like Omega Supreme in which he was an existing toy from another company when Takara/Hasbro got license to reproduce it.
also, he's got a massive ego. go watch season 3 if you don't believe he LOL. though i must allow him a bit of slack in this since he's about the only autobot capable of single-handedly pwning Predaking.

He's not the only one not to have a humanoid robot mode....there were 3 others from 1984's wave one alone that didnt have humanoid robot modes......I hope I dont have to name them, but I think all would say that their real Transformers.I wont even mention the figures from the other years that didnt have humanoid robot mode.

I dont know if thats true or not...I dont doubt that but as you said your self there were other figures that were licensed by other companeys....but only by Hasbro. As a mater of fact ,of the 9 figures that I know for sure were licensed from an other comp. by Hasbro, Shockwave is is the only one that was ever reproduce by Takara for their Transformers Toyline.

Starscream had a massive ego as well
