My collection! And a question...

Hi! I'm a Transformers fan and new to these forums. I used to collect them back in the eighties, but I lost my collection since I was growing up and I didn't care what my mom did to it (she gave them away to charity.)
I'm 30 now and got back to collecting them because of the movie... I found Seibertron.com recently and I think it's a great site for us. Inspired by the galleries here, I'm shooting my own movie figures collection, though mine is not as extensive since it only involves characters from the movie (no Swindle, Arcee, etc.)
Here's my work in progress!
I already have pics of all the Legends class figures from my collection, along with the two Bumblebee versions and the Fast Action Battler Frenzy. There's also a list there of my complete collection, and I intend to take pics of all of them. So I invite you all to stop by!

I also have a question regarding the next Transformers movie, and no one at the Movie forum has answered it so far. Maybe someone knows about it. I wanted to read the script, but the links I've found so far are dead and some call it fan fiction... but I went yesterday to the http://www.imdb.com and typed "Transformers 2." The result I got back was a small plot, and it seems to be the official plot involving a new Decepticon called Maximus Prime wanting to build a super weapon by finding 4 minibots... anyone knows how official is this? Thanks for reading!

I doubt what you read ia very official at all. The writers have just recently signed on to do the sequel and they haven't even put out a semi-final script yet to Spielberg. It will be awhile longer before we know the plot line to the sequel.

What you found sounds like fan fiction to me. :P

Thanks! The reason I asked that was because the imdb.com regularly has official plots and I didn't see that plot until yesterday; also the imdb.com is a kinda serious site since it classifies every official movie project worldwide. They don't have a script, just some sort of plot outline, and since the 13 page script that it's been circulating seems to be about Starscream trying to revive Megatron, along the fact that the script is supposed to be finished by now... I thought maybe that was the actual plot... here it is, just in case someone can confirm if it's part of the fan fiction 13 page script...

"The auto-bots must now fight a new decepticon, Maximus Prime. Maximus Prime wants to catch four minibots to make a weapon of unlimited strength. With the help of Sam Witwicky the auto-bots find one and now they must fight an army of decepticons."

Welcome and

Warning!!!! Seibertron Contains Nuts!!!

*cough*.. Now that that's out of the way.

Only recently have the Writers confirmed they are on for a sequel, obviously nothing resembling a script has even remotely begun to be thought of..
I don't think we'll see anything about the TF2 before January if that.

Whatever you found I agree sounds like a Fan Fiction. which means it was Written by eager little fans.

But don't worry the moment something gets confirmed you'll see it in the news here, and there will be a post either here or in the movie forum about it.

Thanks for the welcome and the answer, Overcracker!
Now, getting back to the propper issue in this forum, I hope you guys can check my collection as I post more pics of it. I've also found here impressive collections! I wish I had my old Transformers, since I had all the cast of the G1 cartoons

IMDB is a serious site, but it's less reliable than Wikipedia. Anyone can submit information to it, and they take an absolute age to remove false information. Oh, and the discussion boards are full of spam and trolls.

Nice start on the collection. If you're still missing your G1 stuff, there's a lot of reissues out there, and the recent Classics line was heavily G1-inspired. Highly recommended. All your money are belong to Hasbro.

You know which ones caught my eye, Sledge? The Masterpiece editions... though they are really expensive over here (up to 500 dollars!)
Let's see if my wife agrees on starting that one... :-?

Ah, I see sir has an eye for quality. :D If you can, get Masterpiece Prime. I don't think I've ever seen a review where the owner didn't fall in love with him. It took me about a month before I stopped genuflecting every time I saw mine. Quite possibly the best Transformer ever.

Baby steps my friend, baby steps. Welcome back to the fold. You should definitely check out the classics line if you enjoyed the old G1 series. Cheaper then the MP line and just as good, if not better IMO.

He speaks the truth! Slow and steady wins the race. Also, take a gander at this site's own Carbombya Bazaar Buy/Sell/Trade forum--great deals to be had on there from reputable and friendly board members--haven't gone wrong with a deal here yet!

Good luck and welcome to Seibertron!

Jaydee: Just noticed you live in Mexico city. I thought I was the only D.F. TF collector.

Nice to know I'm not alone.

You'll have to get online if you want the harder to find pieces, like Masterpieces or exclusives. We don't get those down here.

I like BBTS, but you have to watch out for the shipping fees.

Also the normal main line figures take about 1 to 2 moths to come out here after they have been released over there.

Ah, but the Classics line is about to be produced again in Japan, so that should keep prices down for a bit. MP Prime is more likely to rise in price, surely?

That said, Classics Prime is a kickass figure, so grab if you can.

So, Overcracker... you are also here in smog city?! :P
You are not alone collecting Transformers, then. Though let me tell you that I saw a Masterpiece Optimus Prime at a toy store/internet cafe near Mixcoac. I actually bought there my Leader Class Prime... they wanted 5,800 pesos for the Masterpiece edition (around 530 bucks.) They also had Megatron. On the other hand, I have not seen classic editions there, or at any other store!
I'm gonna look for classics at the latin american eBay (a site called deremate.com) and check prices. I'm amazed that these days the G1 toys are so rare to find.

Wow $5800 that's expensive.

Classics were readily available at every Wal-Mart. But the line has since ended. I bought most of the classics I own at Wal-mart. except a few specific ones I bought in the USA. because they were either Target exclusives, or because i just never found them here.

De-Remate sometimes has a few things you can buy, although they can be rather expensive. There was a Target Exclusive Movie Voyager Optimus Prime there, normally worth 20 USD, going for over 700 pesos. I though that was a little steep

Masterpieces I have never seen, so this store you mention intrigues me.

I have yet to buy a Masterpiece myself, so I'm curious although i would never pay 5800 pesos for a figure. For that amount of money I could get a G1 Fortress Maximus off Ebay.

Also you might want to check bbts.com for the Encore line. G1 figures re-issued. They are pretty affordable. Optimus Prime i believe was going for about 80 bucks (900 pesos) For G1 nostalgia, you can't beat it Although I still haven't talked myself into buying one.

Ah, yes! I saw at DeRemate.com those Voyager Primes going at even 120 bucks! I have a story about my Voyager Optimus and Megatron... one night after work I had already talked to my wife about getting the Voyager Optimus and Megatron from DeRemate, each at 900 pesos (around 180 bucks for both.) She accepted with hesitation, but before that, she wanted to go to Wal Mart to get some food. Anyways, she tells me to go and check the Transformers section just one more time before bidding on DeRemate... and guess what? Wal Mart was stocking the toy section ONLY with Optimus and Megatron. I spent 660 pesos (60 bucks) for both instead of 180 bucks! Don't you guys just love when that happens? The same "rush" I had when I was 12 years old looking for video games and finding the last copy of the one I wanted... it's been a while since I don't feel that kind of rush (pathetic, uh?) :P

EDIT: By the way, Overcracker... the toy store is called Vale Toys and it's in front of the Comercial Mexicana, on Holbein street #10bis, two blocks away from metro Mixcoac. I just checked what they are offering and they don't have the MP Prime with trailer anymore, only the american 20th anniversary DVD version at 1,600 pesos. And the Megatron they have is the Classic version, as well as the re-issue version, both at 1,500 pesos (around 150 bucks.)

I haven't been searching for a while. I guess I'll have to take a peak at my local Wal-Mart see what they have.
