What is kitbashing??

I have a general idea but i'd like a clear definition, and what do you need to do it?

Cheers :)

You should refer to the Kitbashing Fan Fiction and Art forum. You will find help and tips on how to Kitbash.

Basically though, it derives from taking different model kits and bashing them together to make an original toy. Hence kitbash. We here kitbash TF's to make our own custom repaints, figures and accessories.

Okay, it depends on what you want to do. Do you want to make your Optimus Prime look like Nemesis Prime? Do you want to take a scale model and make a TF out of it?

The amount of difficulty comes from the task you hope to accomplish. It can be a simple repaint or a whole new mold job. The Kitbash forum can help you with this.

Depends on your grades in shop class. Mine were a tad moderate. :P Seriously though, kitbashing takes a lot of time, patience and dedication (doesn't any productive hobby?), but for some it's worth it.

On that topic, Seibertron.com is undergoing a merger with a major kitbash site even as we speak: Transtopia. The site contains galleries of kitbashes simple and impressive, repaints and even guides for simple alterations (read: improvements) for exisiting toys.
