(repost in Toy Forum, as I intend to post here instead of in the Kitbash Forum, since its more of a feedback on the figure)

...how I've been so wrong about you.

Deluxe Movie Jazz used to be one of my least favorite Movie character toy, and I am pretty dead on not getting it. He's fat, got bunny ears, plain, and the dull grey plastic didn't help one bit. The Solstice isn't someting I like much. When I saw the Final Battle Jazz packaged in robot mode, I wasn't convinced one bit either. Saw Target's G1 deco, passed as well. But now that I've seen the movie on DVD, and look back at my collection, he is the only one thats missing from the Autobots. So I thought what the heck, knowing there is one nearby Walmart that still have quite a few of him. I decided to get him, sort of a "might as well" purchase. Who would have thought, I like him almost as much as my 08 Bumblebee...after a paint job.

Most of you already know what Jazz has to offer, so I won't go into details. While his articulation is limited, and don't quite like his gun's look & being an add on piece, I love the figure's sturdiness & balance. He stands really well, which is always something I look for in a figure. And I always lift up his shoulders to help him look a few pounds less. Love his clear visor, the only movie toy I have that actually works well with the light effect through it. But man, was I surprised by the sculpted details on this guy, especially on the neck/shoulder areas, inner torso, inner car panels, and the legs. Most of them you won't see as much normally, but once painted a wash, they pop right out. Level of detail is on par with 08 Bumblebee, and significantly more than the likes of Barricade (his legs are awfully simple). And a gloss clear coat really help the dull plastic no longer look so dull. Quite amazingly, this Jazz that I thought I would never get, now became my second favorite movie Deluxe. Guess Jazz just need to be 'jazzed up' a bit. Sweet little figure for $9.99 & a few hours of work. ;)

Now that they are all here, its time for "Autobots! Roll out!!!"

I hope you don't mind, but I saved your family portrait of the movie autobots.

I like how you used rescue ratchet instead of the big green dummy. It's how it should be IMO. Also, you have Ironhide's shoulders transformed in my favorite way. Why people lay them flat I'll never know.

Nice freakin' work ... all around!!

Don't mind at all. Save the pics all you want. :) I do like the Rescue Ratchet more, even though its not the movie color. But not quite digging the G1 deco Jazz. Like the idea, but not so sure about the execution. While grey is dull, I still prefer it better.

Of all the G1 decos we've seen for the movie line Jazz is really the best one done of the mix. Highly recomend him.

That looks really nice. Quite an improvement. Did you add a wash to your Rescue Ratchet? I don't own one, but the details look great, so I am assuming you gave him a bit of detail too. :-?

Did you do something to Jazz's feet? Coz it looks kinda die-cast..

Very impressive job with the custom work. You have inspired me to get final battle Jazz.

Jazz's feet has silver dry brush on the black plastic, applied very light and mostly on the edges. It does look like diecast doesn't it.

Ratchet also has some detailed up. A grey wash with some silver highlight in some areas. The only guy that hasn't got a paint job yet is Ironhide. He kept getting postponed somehow, even though I got him second, more than a month ago. :P

I have the G1 repaint of Jazz, and I really love the figure in his robot mode. I love the mould, but I still wish the paint jobs for either version were a bit classier.

And yes, I laughed at the thread title.

What Prime said after Jazz died,"Awww Jazz."

What he should have said,"OMG that Mo**** FU**** killed you!!!! I can't believe that Bitc* tore you in two! WTF! If he hadn't handed my ass to me, I would revive him just to kill him again!"
