Possible great news for CDN collectors. News today that Walmart, The Bay and Zellers are forging ahead with parity pricing now that the $CDN is worth $1.03 vs the $US to offset the huge increase in cross-border shopping with the $CDN's rise:

It is noted in the article above that:

"this will cover things such as diapers, cleaners, garbage bags and other products imported from the U.S. The cuts range from five to 25 per cent and could be expanded to other items. Over time, we will continue to offer more Price Cuts on everyday items at our stores"

Very pleased to see that we may start seeing some price corrections on TFs in the very near future. Once you start seeing these price parities hitting the TF shelves please post your findings!

Paying $70 CDN for a Leader figure may be at an end. $45 CDN sounds a whole lot better. Doesn't it?

Sounds good.

I read Sony stuff (PS/3), etc is going on parity starting today at places like bestbuy. Who knows what's next... We may get a big break on cars (we pay more for those too).

I was kind of afraid that things would go the other way... The US amounts for everything will increase.

Theoretically that's what should happen. I think it's not that the CDN $ is so powerful, it's that the US $ is getting so weak due to wasting so much money with things like wars that they don't need to be in...

Please do not mention anything about the war on this thread. It was not appreciated when I did last time. I agree with your other points regarding other items falling in price though. We are certainly screwed over. For example, a car made in CANADA sells here for $41K and in the US for $32K. Can anyone explain that one to me?

You know Wal-mart has Ultimate Bumblebee for $90 while TRU has him for $110. Big difference but still a waste of money.

The Walmart price is inline with the US price of $90 US. I agree as well as he is not worth it in the end. Better left MISB.

The US dollar has fallen from grace but canadian retailers were unprepared to accomadate that change.

I am glad to hear this will (or more correctly SHOULD) be rectified soon. It would be nice to pay less than $24-29 for a voyager bot.
