... that big frown they scuplted into the toy, it's not his mouth! But it's always coloured to make it look like it is. It's no secret that the movie line is full of bad paint apps, especially on head sculpts (like how Barricade looks like Count Chocula, or Megatron like some weird pig) - but this is really disctracting on the Brawl toys. Especially on the Leader toy, you look at his head and you instinctively see a big sad face, but when you watch the movie, you'll know Brawl mouth (which opens when he's being shot at) is lower, and that his face basically looks like a weird kind of gask mask - not a big toad like the toys would have you believe.

I think the brawl toys look nice. Wish I had one.

Hot damn! you're right! I didn't even notice it. Maybe because I'm so used to the picture being different from the toys I seldom compare anymore. Haha... Barricade and Count Dracula indeed!

I always did think that Brawl looked intellectually wanting, and now I realise that it's the paint apps contributing as well.

I never really thought of that, maybe that's why I hated him lol, he looks a bit dorky and sad. I'll eventually buy the Deluxe one when I get the rest of the Decepticons I need (from the movie) though.

The toys are good in general, but I don't think the heads are all that accurate. Brawl is no exception. Look at 08 BB. Pretty much the best Deluxe. But look at BB's face. Looks like a skull more than anything. And its so flat, not dimensional like in the movie. Leader Prime looks pretty off on the head too, regardless the bigger size. So really no excuses. Leader Megatron surprisingly has one of the best heads (though the nose still a bit off), but we all know what paint it comes in LOL. Make him look like a space monkey.

all of the heads are based on the older movie designs. the reason megs has the best looking head is because it was originally going to be the one on the box, but so many people hated it that they changed it last minute. to bad they didn't do that for the rest!

Prime looks pretty much dead on to the version in the movie. But dead on in a way that everything is off or simplified. But not in a way they dont' have enough reference to base on. So regardless Megatron's case or not, no excuses.

That's interesting. The one thing that bothers me about leader Brawl's head IS his head. The flatness on top, his horizontal eyes, and frown all together give his an unintelligent look. He looks dumb (as in not spart, not as in a bad figure).

Brawl does look dumb. But from what I remember from the bio on the box (threw that away already), I did get an impression that he got a lot of muscle & firepower, but not as much in the brain. I could be wrong though. But if thats the case, its not surprising that he looks dumb.

I don't think Leader Brawl's head is ugly either. I am fine with it. Just that when compare to the concept art or the movie shots, the inaccuracy bugs me. Same goes to almost all other movie figures.

Personally I like the scheme of his head mould overall... Thats one of the reasons Ive bought all of his toys.. Just MO though..

i never thought of that as his mouth, i've always seen it as some sorta moustache.

I never know he even had a mouth!
I always taught he had a gas mask for a face but no mouth.

I never thought that was his mouth in the first place. I think you looked too hard into it bro.

Don't get me wrong, I looooove the Leader Brawl toy, he's great - and his head sculpt is beautiful, I just don't like how simple paint app screws up the face so badly (same with Megatron and his pig-nose).

It's just a question of training your eyes to recognise the right part as his mouth.

i do see the problem but i never really noticed it myslef it can be fixed if someone has good painting skills

Y'know I really like Brawl's head. I think he has about the best head of the movie-formers. It's a little abstracted, but not all sliced up and insect like as seen in certain others. He looks mean, and a little dumb.

And I never thought that was his mouth either, and I don't see anything about the paint would suggest that it was. But I just have deluxe Brawl.
