Any update on the WalMart Classics Devastator? The closer it gets to the film release, the more worried I am that it could be cancelled. :(

I tried a search and couldn't find any info on the forums. Anyone know an approximate release date?

Its not devastator. Its energon crap. Don't waste your money. The more we buy crap ass repaints such as this, the more Hasbro thinks it okay to give us cool characters in stupid ass repaints, instead of thier own, new molds, which they deserve.

I havent got any Energon Combiners yet, and I'd like to see if they're really all that bad...

If I can find a good deal, I'll be getting em.

Well It definitely is not Devastator, but I would not hold my breath for an original 6 figure combining mold.

And its not as bad a figure as everyone makes it out to be. I have the original Energon release, and mine holds together pretty good. He has enough articulation points to be relatively poseable. And all in all is a good combiner.

The only gripe is the doubled limbs. 2 cranes and 2 shovels. in different colors. Oh and the original color scheme does not blend well together.

I have all 3 energon combiners and they all hold together pretty well in fact the weakest of the 3 is Superion Maximus. And as for the construction one well Energon never claimed it was Devastator in fact this gestalt name is ConstructiconMaximus not Devastator and well a worthy combiner in his own right he definately is not Devastator. As far as Classic Devastator they should of given us a six figure combiner instead of a repaint of Constructicon Maximus and calling it Devastator still though if you don't own Constructicon Maximus then by all means pick up Classic Devastator although if I were you I would refer to it as Constructicon Maximus and not as Devastator. If Hasbro was smart they would convert one of the cranes into either a cement mixer or a dumptruck and one of the frontend loaders into a Bulldozer that way we would have a Devastator that would at least pay some homage to the origional G1 Devastator.

I'm not that wild about this version of Devestator and I don't like that they left out 2 Contructicons and replaced them with an "original" character. I thought the classics line was supposed to reflect the G1 line and make modern updates. I've already gone on a rant in another thread about this as far as Devestator goes and the other thing that bothers me is he stands about the same height as Megatron. It also means BumbleBee and CliffJumper will be taller than construction equipment as far as the individual Constructicons go and the Classics have done a decent job with scale for the most part. Devestator appears to be the only un-original set of molds in the entire Classics line unless someone is aware of another character that is a repaint of a previous line. My major complaint with this Devestator is that he doesn't seem to fit in with this line and Hasbro has done an awesome job with Classics so far. Unfortunately he will probably be the last Classic for a while and the Classics have been pretty Decepticon "lite" so far. I might wait on this one as much as I would hate to not complete my Classics collection, at the very least until he drops quite a bit in price.

Well, aren't they priced at $20? I'd call that a good deal, if it's true...

I can live without the set, although the Devastator color scheme might be nice, but the Alt. situation worries me quite a bit more. I can't stand to think that I'll have to pony up online to get those two...

I'd venture a guess and say they owed WalMart an exclusive, they were ending the production of classics and instead of creating a new mold, they repainted one.

I just wish they would have given them a repaint of Starscream or Ramjet instead and saved Devastator for a new mold after the movie stuff.

I think it looks good, and I've never even seen the Energon ones, so I want this.

What happened to Rumble & Ravage Alternators!? Are we not getting them!?

I liked the Energon Combiners. I have a complete Constructicon Maximus and Superion Maximus. I will be picking this set up.

Thundercracker would have made the most sense and you would have thought it would have been fairly easy to produce. It's kind of weird that there was a Ramjet and no Thundercracker. I was never a big Dirge fan but I could have seen them doing him fairly easily. I would have also liked to have seen Thrust, he's a really interesting and unique looking figure.

I have to agree with you though, a Starscream repaint would have been the best and would've balanced out the Target Exclusive, maybe package in another Decepticon to even up the collection so far.

I'll suspect we'll get a Thundercracker as a BotCon exclusive.
