All Spark noob question

So can those of you who've been around for awhile give me an idea of how transitions like this work? Do retailers take away all the older movie transformer toys to make room for All Spark ones, never to be seen again? OR will there be a mix of both old waves with new All Spark waves?
Maybe I am viewing this the wrong way? Is All Spark simply a new wave or is it a whole new movie line?
My guess is that we will see a mix of both for awhile...until the first waves are gone?

The Allspark toys are the movie line. I'm not sure how to explain it. With the exception of the Cybertron line & RID line Hasbro seems to like putting a subtitle the line for the last wave or two of that line. For example we had the Unicron Battles line in the Armada toyline. They were Armada TF's but the tag line was to help bring attention the reamining figures in the line so that they'd sell. The same thing was done with the Energon line with the Powerlinx Battles. It's just a tagline to help keep up the hype for the movie figures until it's done.

...oh I get it, just a little change in packaging with a few new molds & repaints to keep things rolling?
Dang, I feel like one of Hasbro's hoes

It depends on the line, I remember with Cybertron, the "Primus Unleashed" packaging didn't change, and there really weren't that many retools or repaints, it was just the last wave of figures. With this new movie lie I couldn't tell you, seeing as I really dislike the movie toy line - I'm just waiting for Classics 2.0 and Animated figures.

Considering how quickly I've grown my collection since I started re-collecting 2001 (0 in 2001, 525+ in 2007) I'd say I'm definitely one of Hasbro's TF hoes.

They will come packed as wither all "Allspark Battles" or just plain movie packed. much like Primus Unleashed, before that we had the "Unicron Battles" and after that the "Engergon Battles".
So don't besurprised come January when you see Cliffjumper burried in a sea of Bonecrushers and Swindles.
