what is the quality of this line from the movie? are they intended for the small child who will find it easier to transform the toy? any insight into this line vs. the deluxe line would be appreciated! thanks.

Fast Action Battler's, or FAB's for short are a line designed by Hasbro to be stronger, sturdier and easier to transform than the normal Deluxe and Voyager lines.
Bar Frenzy, all FAB Transformations are simpler than the Deluxe/Voyager/Leader class figures of the same characters.
The plastic is thicker and stronger in most cases than the plastic used in the normal lines, meant to let the figures have a better chance of survival from rough play caused by children.
In most cases the Deluxe/Voyager version of a figure is more detailed, has a harder transformation, and are made from thinner plastics to allow the more complex transformations.
There are some FAB figures that are must owns, like Frenzy, while others such as Brawl, Blackout and Megatron make good replacements for their normal line counterparts, Brawl and Blackout as they do not suffer many of the problems that plague their Deluxe/Voyager counterparts, and Megatron as his "cost per suckiness" is lower compared to Voyager or Leader Megatron.

I have to admit, I don't understand all these movie lines. I mean there's ...
The leader class figures.
The regular line.
The Fast action battlers.
AND the Legends toys.
AND the Cyber Slammers.
Each one being more simplified than the last with the final being as simple as you can get.
I get that each is sorta ... one step down on the food chain, but doesn't Transformers target boys aged 5 - 9 already? Aren;t the regular releases simple enough? I admit all I have is Barracade, but he seems easy enough. Certainly not harder than any other TF line.
Anyhow ... is FAB Frenzy any good? I heard bad things about him. And his waist is so long when I see him in package...

Ratchet(3.8/5)and megs(3.9.5.6.5.3.7.8/5)

The reason for so many different lines of figures is to be able to target people from all angles.
How many time have you been in stores where kids are kicking and screaming and the parent tells them if they behave they can get a toy? I used to work in a Supermarket, and it was a 2 dozen times a day occurrence. Enter the Legends figures, for just a few dollars, the kid gets a toy, and the parent gets the noise to stop.
Basics are good for the "shut up, and you get a toy" range as well as being good for younger kids who get pocketmoney.
Deluxes and larger figures all target the parents of children more than the children themselves, presents, bribes, whatever.
