Flimsy, not very posable & way out of scale (at least there is a leader class version).

I wouldn't recommend this figure, how about you guys?

Yeah 2500 threads describing the many ways Brawl sucks, is testament to the how poor of a figure Deluxe Brawl is.

I'm sure you can find quite a few of them if you look through the pages of this forum.

I didn't like him and returned him. I just don't want to keep sub-standard figures. And I really wanted to like him too. I far prefer Leader Brawl but he's got some issues too.

The way his arms are supposed to clip into place in robot mode i.e. they just keep coming loose really bugs me. And as mentioned above his back sucks.

edit - I would have taken him back but mine was in the 3 pack with Jazz & Bonecrusher

I like Deluxe Brawl. Here's why:

1. His main canon is on his forearm, like Megatron would have.
2. He's a tank.
3. His transformation isn't all that bad.
4. He looks good in both robot and tank form.
5. His light piping makes him look eeeeevil.
6. He is easier to put back together than Leader Brawl.
7. He doesn't hog up so much space as Leader Brawl.
8. No clear missile racks.
9. Very good detailing for a Deluxe.
10. His head doesn't look as "stupid" as it does in the leader version.

Leader Brawl is nice, but Deluxe isn't bad either. Sure, his arms don't fit into the pegs. Don't blame Brawl, blame Hasblo. Turn the two tabs in on the turret housing, and it helps keep his arms in place.

I agree.

I don't agree with a lot of the negatives about deluxe brawl. His only real problem is that his shoulder pegs don't fit and his arms flop around. It's a big problem I'll grant. But other than that, there are many positives.

1. The cannon on his arm looks real bad ass. Reminds me of Megatron or Galvatron, and in fact change his stupid look to one similar to Megatron and he could have been the main toe-to-toe mofo versus Optimus Prime in the ultimate battle.

2. He has a good transformation. His automorph is one of my favourites when I consider the other deluxes. To me his tank treads automorph is what I envisioned when Hasbro was marketing this automorph gimmick. Things really moving into place that have something to do with the transformation. Not crap like weapons tha open from sliding or inserting a missile.

3. In both alt and robot mode, he looks good and pretty clean. That's important to me.

4. He doesn't strike me as too fragile, although of course I'd be careful with any automorph. But he's got a good "for play toy" feel to him lacking in many other figures.

5. I love his shoulder missile racks. None of that clear plastic crapola. And furthermore it is more articulated than Leader Brawl's. I can position it so many ways. Leader Brawl looks like he should be able to raise to missile racks higher than he can.

6. He's got a firing missile. Leader Brawl I'd have hoped for a battery of them, but he doesn't even have one.

Again, the main problem I have is the shoulders. What I've done is to have one Deluxe Brawl where I've glued those pegs in. No flopping, great play value. I have another for transformations.

All in all it's one of my favourite figures. I was going to do my own movie figs wrap up, in which I intended to praise Deluxe Brawl intead of condemning him, but might as well cut and paste my Brawl take on this thread.

I like Dlx Brawl too, he gets a raw deal just because his shoulders don't peg in the way they should. Just flip down the turret flaps and the shoulders will stay within an eighth of an inch of where they should be.

He's close to in-scale w/ Blackout, FWIW; he's not meant to be in-scale w/ the other deluxes IMO. I modded the front half of his main cannon (it pops off) to peg into the front-facing side of his turret/back kibble, so it looks more like Leader Brawl. Then I turn the reminaing main gun portion on his arm around so the machine gun end faces out. It's more movie accurate that way.

If you can afford it, I say both Brawls are worth having.

Yeah man. I'm showing the love for the deluxe Brawl too. He's a cool little toy and his arm problem is easily fixed with 2 small dabs of nail polish/superglue.

I like my dlx Brawl too. The shoulder peg thingy is easily fixed. Take a look around the kitbash forum for the fix.

Yea the scale is off from all the autobots, but so is Bonecrusher and Blackout. If you display them together they look fine.

While we're on it FAB Brawl isn't too bad either. I have all 3 and they all have good points.

I'm liking him too. Great-looking vehicle mode, great-looking alt mode. Plenty of offensive weaponry, including claws, miniguns that can fire in almost any direction (what are they anyway, grenade launchers?), and of course a working missile launcher's always cool. Pretty sturdy all told, and a lot better articulation than I'd have expected considering how chunky he is.

The only thing I don't like is the shoulder glitch. Right now I 'solve' it by flipping the turret flaps closed again, like Sporty and Hip-Hop. If and when I can think of something, I'll probably rig a more permanent fix.
