Masterpiece or classics

I'm stuck on a choice. Masterpiece Megs or Classics Megs. If I buy classics I'll have money left over. While Masterpiece is the masterpiece. I'd like to note I already have best buy megs, leader class, and robot replica if that makes a difference

Not really as. Masterpiece Megs is the best you can find. but Classics Megs has its merits. They both have nothing to do with Movie Megs, so you can put those out of the equation when deciding.

Ask yourself do you want a G1 cartoon Accurate Megs, or a re-imagining of G1 Megatron?

I just mentioned movie megs so everyone knew I already had a meg toy. I don't mind the orange tip on classics or the jet packs

i'd hold off getting the classics Megs.

i have one, and the toy is very excellent, but with the news that Takara is going to release the Classics line IN cartoon-accurate colors, i believe that Megs is going to get a better paint job here - maybe even better than the neons we have him in right now.

i think save your money, go with classics, just because if you don't like hard transformations, then don't get mp megs... classics megs is super cool for his price, you should get that one, save your money on a nother mp, or figure.

If you go with the MP-Megs, be careful with it...it is fragile. I do not have one but I have heard stories of the figure actually breaking.

Which Primes do you have? I would get ones to match size-for-size.

yeah, lots of stories on this QC issue - plus also, he virtually has no visible die-cast (except for a few parts) unlike MP OP who has a lot. ironic since Meg's finish is supposed to be gun metal.

The fact that you're asking does suggest that you're not interested in MP Megs to make it worth what you'd have to pay. If I were going to drop that much cash on one figure, I'd need to be bloody sure I wanted it, not comparing it to another figure at a fraction of the cost.

It's not rust, it's tarnish.

I went with MP Megs because I love hard transformations and wanted a Megatron to compliment my Prime.

HOWEVER

You really do have to be sure. I have to admit, I wish I waited a bit ... I probably coulda gotten my Megs for cheaper if I had waited.

You might also want to consider the fact that MP Megs is not a toy. Meaning, you really shouldn't play or transform him too much. I haven't had mine break on me, but I'm not doubting the stories that he has broken on people.

I can say that I'm really happy with my Megs and that I'll probably get those accessories for him. But you really need to look at all the pictures you can find and decide if Classics Mega is enough to make you happy.

get them both. Sell your soul. So you can have Megatron and Megatron jr kick the crap out of Prime and Prime jr

Sound advice here.

Gauntlet101010 is correct about the rust not being rust. It's just tarnish, which can be removed.

Best bang for your buck would be the Classics NERF Megatron, or the new Japanese release.

Masterpiece though ... c'mon. It doesn't get any better than that.

If you're like most of us, you will buy classics megs first to save some loot. A few months down the road you'll get MP-5 megs. Tell me, how is that saving anybody money?

Really, MP megs would save you money ... because he is the best. You don't "need" any other megatron after him. The proverbial itch would not only be scratched ... it would be raked.

If you can afford MP Megs, go for it, then wait for the Takara version of the Classic Megs.

I'm of a mind to tell you that you really have to have both, with the upcoming Classics Megatron in G-1 colors (rumor) from Takara, and the MP Megatron, it's just really cool..can't wait!!

I love this post and couldn't agree more. You can't compare the two. Masterpiece figures are beautiful and really gallery quality pieces. While a lot of the classics are great and Megatron has his merits, he's definitely a glorified Nerf gun. At some point, I'm definitely going to pick up a MP Megatron as I love the Prime and two seekers I have.

i second this. you'll save more money in the long run since MPs tend to increase in value over time, so don't expect this to go any cheaper, unless there's a sale or something (which, given the figure itself, is highly doubtful to happen).
