Hey guys,

I'm looking for the sword for Cerebros which came with the Japanese version of Fortress Maximus It's the last piece that I'm missing from having a complete Fortress Maximus. Due to the rarity of this item, I would be open to a reproduction sword or a real one though I have no idea how I'll know the difference between the two. If you have a spare one or know of someone who makes them other than TransRepro.com (the site's owner seems to be M.I.A.), I would really like to get my hands on one or two. Please let me know if you can help! Thanks!

Ryan

Do you have a picture of the sword? I will keep my eyes open at the flee markets and manga stores.

Very cool. The flee markets are in season now and have loads of Transformer parts. I will keep my eyes open.

By the way- Is Cerebros able to think on his own as a character? Or, is he a drone for Fortmax?

Essentially, Cerebros is the main part of Fort Max. In Japan, Cerebros was called "Fortress" and was a primary character in the Headmasters series. In the U.S. cartoon, Spike had befriended the pacifist Cerebros who helped him build a city to battle Lord Zarak's creation Scorponok. In the Marvel comics, Fortress Maximus started out as a much smaller Autobot, roughly the size of Powermaster Optimus Prime. He was later given a much larger body and became the first double Headmaster. The Cerebros character seemed more like a drone in the comic series.

Thanks to diablien pointing out this auction on eBay ... my Cerebros will at last have a sword, albeit a replica but that's OK with me.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=016

I'll might sell off the other pieces in that auction but I want to wait until I get them here before I post them on eBay. Unfortunately, I will be using those other items to hopefully pay for the sword so it won't be a deal.

I'm now one step closer to doing the Fort Max/Scorponok/Brave Maximus gallery. I've got all of their pieces, replica guns for Brave Maximus, an unused sticker sheet for Scorponok and Fortress Maximus (as well as reprolabels for any factory applied stickers that might need to be replaced), replica master/god swords for Brave and Fort, weapons for the little guys.

All that I need now to do their galleries are to replace the chrome leg pieces for my Scorponok. Those are highly susceptible to chrome wear and mine were certainly no exception. They are most definitely not worthy of the galleries or my Scorponok any more so I will be replacing them before I take the photos of one of my all-time favorite Transformers. Once I get those, I will finally, at last, sit down and do the galleries for 3 of the greatest Transformers toys ever.

Now if I could only get a reproduction Cog for Brave Maximus as well as guns for Brave Maximus' "The Emissary" and whatever Cog's name is. That would truly make me happy. :)

I do not own Black Zarak or Grand Maximus yet. Those two as well as Overlord are definitely on my list of must haves within the next year. I decided to turn my focus toward finishing my U.S. collection first before spending any more money on the Japanese figures. After the Darkwings set and Minerva, I'm OK with this for the time being. I have a lot of galleries to do so there's really no need for me to have those figures at this time ... especially since I am desperately running out of space in my apartment. I need to move to a bigger place!!!

Yes I do ... hence the "Brave Maximus" references above. I also have the reproduction guns for Brave Max. Would love to get a reproduction Cog and guns for the Cerebros mold and Cog as well but I'm not counting on it. I also have a reproduction master sword for Brave Maximus as well. I think it's the blue one which is for Brave Max supposedly.

Why is the Grand Maximus sword so expensive? It seems more expensive than the toy.

Guess what? I too need Cerebros sword for my Japanese Max. I do have a box to go with mine (I love the box art!) :P

I have a MIB Black Zarak on the way, and I have the European and Japanese Overlords with their respective boxes.

I feel lucky, but you have a collection to beat all collections...

Here, Here, quoted for truth! I keep telling my wife, that soon, my collection will spill over into her room. I already have my room (master bedroom). A third room, for computer and other stuff, and now I am treating to dispose of her She-Ra collection for more of my TF's. She says there will be a battle soon and we shall see what universe wins! But we already know who wins! /:)

Looking at the current Cerebros gallery you appear to have given him Dreadwind's gun for most of the pics.

Yeah, I need to redo Cerebros' gallery when I do Fortress Maximus. It was #15 way back in February-ish 2004. You can tell that I really didn't have a system in place yet when I did his galleries ... notice how there aren't many photos of him without another figure in the background.

http://www.seibertron.com/toys/gallery.php?id=15&size=0&start=0

I recently obtained Cerebros' gun as well as Cog's which will enable me to do their galleries right at last. Apparently, I have reproduction ones that will be coming along with a reproduction sword for Cerebros (he'll finally have his sword!!!) ... or maybe I'll keep them so that Cerebros and Cog can each have two guns.

Because he was only released with two toys: the Japanese Fortress Maximus (it was deemed too dangerous for US kids) and Grand Maximus. Brave Maximus never got one, though it got a new hilt for God Fire Convoy / Omega Prime to use.
So basically, it's a Japan-only accessory, in demand and rare. Those factors made the price skyrocket in non-Japan territories.

Not to mention it just looks so much cooler. Heck, look at the boxart of Fort Max even.

Cool. Was the sword referenced in the Japanese TV show? I am curious if that added to its popularity.
