Masterpiece and leader class

Ok so i recently decided to get myself the transformer toy I always wanted as a kid but never had. You hear about people doing this all the time, they even made a movie about once i think. So I logged onto the ol' 'net and strated looking around for Starscream (yeah i'm one of those  ).

In my searching I find great sites like this one and whole online communities of transformers collectors. I also pretty quickly picked up a classics starscream since i read he was an updated version of the orriginal toy. And as much as im liking him im rather dissapointed with his hieght. It may be all in my head but i remeber my Skywarp being taller, stiff as board but taller.

Then I find out about MP-03 a super large highly detailed and expensive version of screamer seemingly made for grown up kids like me to buy. Then i see the talk about the true G1 coloured (look at me talking the lingo) US version, and well i must have it.

Which brings me to my masterpiece question, no its not what your thinking. I live in australia, i see theres a few other aussies on here too and I'm wondering whats the best way to get this guy from down here in oz?

Secondly since theres a bit of a wait for starscream anyway ive decided to look into getting him a friend. Particuarly one that wont look undersized next too him.

Obvoisly the other Mp's size compairs well but neither megatron nor optimus interest me. And Skywarp, well i kind of have this dislike of him owing to him being the jet i had as a kid. I loved him but constantly wished he was starscream.

So i started looking at other large toys, the armarda line seems strange and scary too me although theres deffinatly some big transformers in there. Leader class movie prime actually looks really neat, and finally looks like a decent truck instead of the gooffy shortened cab he normally is. And i could make him fight starscream or something.

Then i saw leader brawl in big-w the other day (man its weird being an adult in the toy area) and damn he looked pretty cool. Plus getting home turns out hes sort of based on combaticons brawl who, if i rember right, was built by starscream. So he fits, kind of.

So the question how do the leader class movie guys compare size wise too a Master Peice figure? And I guess ill ask for oppinions of who to get Brawl or Optimus given they'll be keeping Starscream company?

Brawl is pretty good.

Masterpiece are a few inches taller then leader class, atleast my optimus is.

Get leader Brawl as he's easier to find now than Leader Prime (until the all spark version comes out).

Yep, Masterpiece seekers are going to be slightly taller than the Leader class movie stuff ... as they should be. Still, they will not be true scale to each other in either form.

I would take some comparison pics for ya, but it's getting late for me ... almost bed time.

Welcome to the sickness. You know you're in trouble when you want to take a mad dash toward the toy aisle as soon as you enter the store.

Even worse, once you figure out that the Lawn & Garden entrance is typically closer to the toy section at most Walmarts ... priceless.

Don't research Alternators or Binaltech, because they ARE the greatest TF toy line IMHO. You WILL want them all, which is bad ... because they aren't made anymore. EXPENSIVE!!!

Welcome to the boards, take off your coat ... stay a while.

Welcome.

As for figures, as much as I like Brawl, I'd take Leader Prime over him. He's a really good figure.

Classics Screamer is a Deluxe Class figure, and is thus of comparable height to todays Deluxe sized figures, which are smaller than the old G1 Seeker mold.
If you are disappointed with your Classics toy, and want a Starscream, why not purchase the Encore Starscream figure? There is an Aussie online store that is very reputable that sells him for $70, they are Transfigure Toys Encore Starscream Order Page.

TRU Australia will most probably be carrying the US version of MP 03 Starscream, in his anime colours, as they also stocked the MP/20th Anniversary Prime.

Alternatively you can also preorder him, again from Transfigure Toys US MP Starscream order page.

Prices may seem high, but they have to pay for the import/shipping fees which are quite high.

Happy hunting.

As a Masterpiece, Starscream is quite undersized compared to Prime or Megs. The Lovie Leader class figures pretty much match up to MP SS in size.

I'd Movie Prime over Brawl but if you're into Decepticons, get Brawl.

Well i did a run around of the local Toy/whatever sort of shop Kmart is. Saw one prime and he didnt really grab me in the box. Is it just me or is his head way too small?

So i went back to big-w and got brawl (since none of the other stores actually had him). Damn hes big. MP starscream may end up being taller but he'll look smaller next to brawls bulk. I think he'll enjoy doing Starscream dirty work.

Thanks a heap for those links trunks that was exactly the sort of place I was looking for and considering what I just paid for brawl the price isnt to bad really. I'll prolly order him through them because im out in country victoria and there isnt a tru here i think and going to melboune would just cost me another $20 anyway. Although i could go drinking with my brother if i was down there, hmmm.

Out of curoisity, how do places like this get thier stock?

Yeah i guess am "into decepticons" ive cheacked out the alternators galleries and a neat as some of them look i dont think ill be getting any. I never saw the point in toy cars when you could have a toy based on something more fantastical to kids like spaceships or tanks.
