As for the chrome; two options I can think of. As Burn said there's the "Goo Gone stuff" (oddly enough called Goo Gone - at least in the States) if it's just a bit dirty.
Odds are on a fig that old, though, you
will have actually lost some of the original chrome, and I've heard there is a way to deal with that. Chrome sprays are generally notoriously disappointing (the caps are see-your-face-in shiny, but the actual spray turns out to be just plain aluminium-dull), but I've heard a lot of good stuff about
Alclad 2.
And Reprolabels are great, and I've found that contrary to what Cascadia said, even their overseas shipping is fast. I've ordered from them a couple of times, and despite their S&H being a dollar on every order regardless of location, I've always had my stickers within the week.
